Songdo salt bread bakery: 6 plain buns frozen, still crisp, Cozy Bear
In short
Cafe Cozy Bear Salt Bread Bakery Songdo Hagwonga Branch (코지베어) is a salt bread bakery café in the Songdo academy district of Yeonsu, Incheon, that bakes salt bread twice a day, at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The writer visited Cozy Bear late on a weekend afternoon with her husband and took home the 6 plain salt breads still left, packed in Cozy Bear's teddy bear packaging; the ones eaten right away and the ones frozen and reheated in an air fryer both had crisp bottoms. Go at bake time if you want more choice, but Cozy Bear is a great salt bread shop for stocking up to eat later.

This weekend my husband and I followed the smell of fresh bread to Cafe Cozy Bear Salt Bread Bakery Songdo Hagwonga Branch (코지베어 송도학원가점), a salt bread specialist in Songdo, Incheon. I really love salt bread (a buttery roll with a salty, crisp bottom), so I'm always searching for bakery cafés around Songdo. Here is everything: parking tips, bake times for the twice-daily fresh batches, the cute packaging and the Naver review giveaway!

Where to park at Cozy Bear Songdo Hagwonga Branch
The café is on the ground floor of a commercial building, so it was easy to spot from far away. If you use the building's parking lot, you get 1 hour of free parking.
Can the smell of fresh salt bread really be this tempting?
There happened to be space in the public parking lot near the shop, so we parked there and walked in.

What time does Cozy Bear bake its salt bread?
The salt bread comes out twice a day, at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. A standing sign at the entrance said "freshly baked salt bread twice a day," and they say they bake it carefully with French fermented butter and Guérande salt.
We went late on a weekend afternoon, and as you'd expect from a popular shop, only the signature plain salt bread was left! If you want a wider choice, I'd recommend timing your visit to the bake times.

Seating and Cozy Bear's teddy bear gift packaging
Inside, there are a few small tables where you can sit and enjoy your bread.

What caught my eye most was the gift box with a cute teddy bear character. The design is so adorable that it would work perfectly for giving bread to friends and acquaintances.

I also saw a notice saying they boil domestic red beans themselves, so I promised myself to come early next time and try the handmade ang-butter salt bread (red bean paste and butter).

How is the coffee at Cozy Bear?
Cozy Bear is a salt bread specialist, but they take coffee seriously too. They say the coffee is made with beans roasted and extracted by a national-team barista. It looks like a clean coffee pairing that goes well with bread, so next time I want to enjoy it with coffee at a table in the shop.

Cozy Bear's Naver receipt review event
Write a Naver review and get 1 free salt bread!
I saw a Naver receipt review event running at the counter. If you write a thoughtful review including the words "Songdo café," they give you 1 salt bread, so do take part if you visit!

6 plain salt breads to go: how did they taste?
This time we ordered 6 plain salt breads to take away. Each one was put neatly in its own paper bag, then they were all placed in a handled paper bag with a cute teddy bear on it. The packaging was so charming that I was in a good mood the whole way home.

As soon as we got home, I tried a plain salt bread with coffee. The outside was nicely nutty, and the bottom was golden and crisp with butter flavor. It was really good.
The inside was moist and soft, a rich, premium taste true to the basics.

Is Cozy Bear salt bread still crisp after freezing and air-frying?
I kept the rest of the plain salt bread in the freezer and then warmed it briefly in the air fryer, and the crispy bottom came back just like freshly baked. I think I'll keep bringing some home whenever I crave salt bread!
