Where to park at Paldo Daepae Gwangju Cheomdan Branch
Paldo Daepae Gwangju Cheomdan Branch is an all-you-can-eat daepae samgyeopsal (thin-sliced pork belly) restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building at 110 Cheomdanjungang-ro, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju. The Cheomdan area has so many good restaurants that parking wars are a real source of stress, but this place has a dedicated lot behind the building's GS25 convenience store, so I got off to a great, stress-free start. That's a huge plus if you're driving.

What 18,900 won gets you: 6 cuts of daepae samgyeopsal, unlimited
The biggest draw of Paldo Daepae Gwangju Cheomdan Branch is, without a doubt, its overwhelming value. For a reasonable ₩18,900 per person, you get unlimited access to a full 6 varieties of daepae samgyeopsal. Usually all-you-can-eat BBQ places skimp on meat quality or offer a limited range, but this place was completely different.

Arrived

Is Paldo Daepae Cheomdan good for family meals?
Walking into the restaurant, I was greeted by a clean, spacious space. The tables were well spaced out, making it look perfectly suited for group gatherings or work dinners too. What stood out most was how thoughtfully they provided baby chairs for families with young kids. I'd strongly recommend this Cheomdan BBQ spot to parents looking for a place to comfortably eat out with their children.

What's at the self-bar?
The vegetable self-bar at Paldo Daepae Gwangju Cheomdan Branch is unlimited. The veggies were fresh as can be!
There were various sauces too — lots of options like lettuce, perilla leaves, green onion salad, cheongyang chili peppers, mushrooms, and more.

This is the rice corner where you can make your own fried rice

There were 2 kinds of slushies too — blue is Bbongtta, yellow is Fanta

Powders for dipping the meat — flower salt, Himalayan salt, curry powder, soybean powder, yangkkochi (lamb skewer) seasoning. My personal pick: the yangkkochi seasoning!
Vegetables — they even had bean sprouts. Great either grilled or mixed into rice.

Sauces, salts and powders to mix your own dip

What took the meat's flavor up a notch was the variety of sauces. Beyond the basic green onion salad sauce and sesame oil dip, there were plenty of special house sauces and seasonings that cut right through the meat's richness. Dip it in coarse salt to enjoy the pork's natural savoriness, then dunk it in the umami-rich sauce — it just keeps going with no chance of getting tired of it.

The highlight: free Han River ramyeon you cook yourself
At Paldo Daepae Gwangju Cheomdan Branch, Han River ramyeon is served for free. There's an instant ramyeon cooker installed inside — the kind you'd usually only see outdoors or at a convenience store — so with just the push of a button, you get a springy, delicious bowl of Han River ramyeon in no time. No need to explain how good spicy ramyeon tastes at a BBQ place. It was the perfect finishing dish to wash away the richness of the meat. Being free doesn't mean the quality drops either — topping the spicy broth with a few leftover pieces of daepae samgyeopsal is the ultimate combo.

The ventilation was great and the layout flowed well too

There were so many sauces that dipping the meat never got boring

Green onion salad, radish, and pickled cucumbers — all great

Grilling all 6 cuts of thin-sliced pork belly
Piled my plate high with daepae samgyeopsal

The grill was good, nothing burned, no pork smell — just delicious
