On a hot summer day, I went for lunch with my dad and sibling to Bobae Restaurant, a 24-hour Chinese restaurant in Cheomdan.

They're closed from Wednesday 10pm to Thursday 11am, and there's a break time from 4am to 6am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Other than that, there's no set closing day. *Hours may vary depending on store operations, so if you're visiting late at night, it might be good to call and check first!

It's right on the roadside, so it was easy to find.

Delivery orders through Baemin (Korea's delivery app) are also available. This is probably a Cheomdan Chinese restaurant that's a delivery favorite too. Onnuri gift certificates are accepted as well, worth knowing.

How many seats are inside Bobae Restaurant?

The interior was a very clean, spacious hall, with 11 tables for four set up.

It seemed comfortable for everything from solo dining to gatherings with friends, family meals, and small group get-togethers.

There are no separate private rooms, but there's seating where multiple people can sit together, so it seemed perfect for group gatherings too ~~~

Bobae Restaurant, delicious whether you eat in the hall or order delivery, has also won awards in both the dine-in and delivery categories at the 2026 Korea Consumer Industry Awards!

Free rice at the self-bar and an iced americano machine

Going deeper into the restaurant, there's a self-bar. You can refill the basic side dishes at the self-bar, and even scoop your own rice!!! The rice is honestly amazing. You like jjajangmyeon, but you also want jjajang rice, right?!

The scissors you sometimes need when eating noodle dishes are there at the self-bar too, and you can grab any tableware you need there as well.

What was really amazing was the coffee machine near the entrance!

Busy, tired modern people tend to crave an americano after a meal, so being able to get an iced americano with ice added, just like a café takeout drink, made me really happy even after the meal.

The tableware was also all neatly packaged in paper bags, which made me very satisfied with the hygiene at this Cheomdan Chinese restaurant.

This menu was posted at every table, making it easy to see everything and choose at a glance.

What we ordered, and the side dishes that come with it

Each table had vinegar, soy sauce, red pepper flakes, and other things that go well with the food. There was even a hair tie, which I thought showed real attention to detail.

The basic side dishes were things that go well with Chinese food, like danmuji (pickled radish) and pickled cucumber.

Cream jjamppong, 14,000 won: creamy and smoky

The cream jjamppong I'd been so, so looking forward to! My sibling said you absolutely must order cream jjamppong at Bobae Restaurant, so we did — and it would have been a real shame if we hadn't!!!

Smooth yet spicy cream, chewy noodles, and seafood with a slight charred aroma. It was like a premium version of cream jjamppong... so, so delicious.

Bobae Restaurant also lists cream jjamppong as a recommended dish. It has an appealing smooth, savory flavor, letting you enjoy a taste different from your usual spicy jjamppong, apparently!

Bobae jjajangmyeon, 8,000 won

The noodles were perfectly chewy and cooked, and the sauce was sweet and delicious.

We mixed rice from the self-bar into the leftover sauce and finished it down to the very last bite.

Kongguksu, the summer soybean noodle soup

As expected, Gwangju-style kongguksu comes with sugar ~ chewy noodles, savory bean broth, and toppings all neatly arranged.

It'd be a shame to skip the summer specialty kongguksu, and this Cheomdan Chinese restaurant Bobae Restaurant has it, so anyone who hasn't had it yet this summer should go try it soon ~

Is Bobae Restaurant good with kids? Family amenities

Wifi, phone chargers, charging outlets, aprons, wet wipes, and more — Bobae's thorough service!

They also have baby chairs and baby tableware, and strollers can come in, making it a great Cheomdan spot to visit with young kids! A kids' menu is apparently in the works too.
