Straight hair part perm + down perm: Jeonju salon Bailey Hair Label
In short
Bailey Hair Label Jeonju Hyoja is a hair salon in the Sinsigaji (Hyoja-dong) area of Jeonju. A groom with naturally straight hair whose sides kept flaring out had a part perm and a down perm done together by designer Donghun, booked through Naver, with consultation and a cut first and the curl checked repeatedly to adjust the processing time. For straight-haired men who want shorter morning styling, this part perm and down perm combination is the one to ask for.

My groom has naturally straight hair, which honestly takes a surprising amount of upkeep.
So he needs a perm every so often just to make getting ready for work easier. This time he wanted his hair to fall into a natural part while keeping the sides from flaring out, so he could cut down on daily styling time — so we went to Bailey Hair Label Jeonju Hyoja, a hair salon in Jeonju's Sinsigaji area, for a part perm plus down perm.

Since he wanted an easy-to-manage style, I'll walk you through everything from the process to the finished look.

We visited after booking with designer Donghun.

One side of the salon has a clearly laid-out board with perm and cut prices and membership info, which was handy to check before and after the appointment.

Before visiting, we booked through Naver Reservation, choosing our preferred date and time with designer Donghun, and arrived right on time.
Straight hair with flaring sides: why the consultation led to a part perm plus down perm
Instead of jumping straight into the service, the stylist first checked the current hair condition and did a proper consultation. My groom explained that because his hair is naturally straight, the sides easily flare out, and once a perm fades, morning styling becomes a hassle — so together they decided on a part perm for a natural parting and a down perm to press down the flaring sides, and started the service.
A careful cut before the perm
Cutting style really does vary from designer to designer, right? Watching from the side, Donghun didn't just cut quickly in one go — he divided the hair into sections multiple times, carefully checking length and line as he went.
Seeing him keep checking the overall balance throughout, I genuinely thought, wow, this is thorough — I can trust this. Once the base cut line was cleanly set, he moved on to the actual perm.
How the down perm and part perm were applied
He'd been meticulous during the cut, and that same care carried straight into the perm. While applying the down perm solution, he kept dividing the hair into small sections and carefully checking the areas that flared out.
For the part perm too, he rolled each rod one by one, continually checking direction and shape. Seeing how much attention went into every step — from the initial consultation through the cut and perm — I started to get genuinely excited about the finished look, even while it was still in progress.
Damaged hair, so the curl was checked again and again
Since my groom's hair has some damage, the stylist kept checking how the curls were developing throughout the perm. Rather than just processing for a fixed amount of time, he adjusted the timing based on the hair's condition and how the curl was setting — this is what a truly meticulous designer looks like, I thought.
A thorough shampoo after the perm at Bailey Hair Label
Once the curl had set enough, we moved to the shampoo station to rinse everything out thoroughly. With the solution washed out, I got even more curious about how his once-straight hair would turn out — haha.
Part perm finished, sides smoothed down by the down perm
After the shampoo, he blow-dried the hair, setting the part direction and overall volume as he finished up. What started as limp, straight hair now had a naturally set part line and revived volume on top — the whole vibe was clearly different from before.

The sides in particular, thanks to the down perm, sat calmly against his head without that flared, puffed-out feeling, which made the whole shape look much cleaner. Above all, what my groom wanted was hair that held its shape without a struggle every morning, and it really seemed to turn out that way.
It wasn't just a part carved in — there was a delicate wave running naturally all the way to the ends. He'd even paid careful attention to the direction of the hair ends so they wouldn't stick out every which way, clearly thinking ahead about making it easy to style at home.
Easy morning styling, natural-looking result

Once everything was done, the natural part and delicate wave really stood out, without looking overdone — and my groom was happy with it. With the sides pressed calmly down by the down perm and a smooth flow from the top to the ends, the overall silhouette came out much cleaner.
Busy even on a weekday morning — book ahead
We figured it'd be quiet, so we booked the first slot on a weekday morning. But even during the first appointment, customers kept coming in. I'd assumed a weekday morning would be relaxed, but there were more visitors than expected.

If you have a specific designer or time in mind, I'd recommend booking ahead through Naver rather than walking in. We booked ahead with Donghun, who specializes in men's perms, and the whole process — from consultation to the service — went smoothly with no waiting.
Final thoughts on this Jeonju Sinsigaji hair salon

They brought us drinks and light snacks during the service, so waiting was easy and comfortable.

Seeing umbrellas neatly set up at the entrance, I could feel the thoughtfulness of Bailey Hair Label's Sinsigaji location — haha. Most importantly, the part perm turned out exactly as easy to style and natural as we'd discussed in the consultation, and my groom was happy with it. This is the place I'll think of again when it's time for his next perm. :)
