Dongtan nail salon for strawberry-milk pink monthly art: Green Nail

Before heading off on a late summer vacation, I went on a search spree for a good nail salon in Bansong-dong, Dongtan. Since I was going to be in the water, I really wanted somewhere with solid wear time so my nails wouldn't chip or lift easily. That's how I found Green Nail near my place, and I booked right away.

Green Nail's hours and parking in Bansong-dong

Green Nail is open 10:00 - 20:30, closed on Sundays. Since it stays open into the evening, it's great for booking after work or on weekends.

One of the things I liked most was the parking! There's a street public parking lot right in front of the shop, so anyone driving over doesn't have to worry. Around Dongtan Bansong-dong's restaurant and café streets, parking can be such a hassle, but here you just pull up and walk right in — super convenient from the start.

What the salon looks like inside

Green Nail has an eye-catching sign outside, so it's easy to spot from a distance. Step inside and you find a cozy yet clean space. The treatment tables were kept spotless and the tools were tidy too, which gave me a lot of confidence on the hygiene front.

Menu and prices: the 45,000-won monthly art

Green Nail's pricing was reasonable across the board, from basic care to one-tone gel to full art.

Their 'monthly art' set was especially great value. A ₩45,000 set these days is honestly not that common, you know? The designs ranged from trendy, of-the-moment styles to soft everyday looks, so there was plenty of variety.

This time I picked a lovely pink-toned monthly art design. My skin tone leans slightly warm, so overly vivid pink can feel like a lot, but this was exactly the pretty strawberry-milk shade with a subtle pearl shimmer mixed in, which felt like it would suit me.

The process itself was really careful. Cuticle cleanup was done thoroughly, and there was no pain or irritation at all.

From the moment she applied the base gel, her skill at building thin, even layers stood out.

And ta-da — the finished nail art! The depth of the color and the sparkle of the glitter were luxurious without being over the top, so every time I looked at my hands I couldn't help but smile.

Comparing the before and after photos, the difference is so stark.

Before the nail art, since it had been a while since my last manicure, my cuticles had grown out and there were quite a few hangnails on the sides, but...

...after the care, my hands came out clean and neat, not a bit of dead skin or cuticle left — a total transformation haha.

How long it took and how it held up after snorkeling

The whole process, from basic care to finished art, took about 1 hour 30 minutes total. The owner's hands were fast yet precise, so it was over before I got bored.

Right after getting my nails done, I headed straight to the East Sea for some snorkeling. My hands were in the water for a long time and gripping flippers, so they got a real workout, but even now, after all that water play, there's no lifting or damage at all — it's held up exactly as strong as the day I got it. The wear time here truly deserves credit!

Is Green Nail worth a visit before a beach trip?

Overall, service, hygiene, skill, and wear time were all satisfying at Green Nail. Seeing that not a single nail was damaged after an entire snorkeling trip, with the gel still fresh and intact, I think I'm going to become a regular haha.
