An early-opening brunch café in Gwangalli: Famous Benny
Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch (페이머스 베니 광안리점) is a brunch café in Gwangalli that opens at 8am every day. When you look for somewhere to have brunch early in the morning in Gwangalli, there are fewer places open than you'd expect. Then I found Famous Benny, which opens at 8am. I figured it would be perfect for anyone hunting for a good Gwangalli brunch, so this time I tried a bit of everything, from the avocado toast to the drinks.
Famous Benny Gwangalli hours and parking
Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch is open daily 08:00–18:00, with last order at 17:00. There is no dedicated parking lot, so if you're coming by car, it's best to use a nearby public car park.

- Hours: daily 08:00–18:00
- Last order: 17:00
- Fairly close to Gwangalli Beach
- No dedicated parking lot
I walked over from my accommodation as a little morning stroll, and it's a nice route: look at the Gwangalli sea, then head off for brunch. It's also a Blue Ribbon restaurant 💙
Order downstairs, relax upstairs
At Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch, you order on the 1st floor and wait on the 2nd floor, and a staff member brings your food. The café has two floors, and the 1st floor has outdoor tables, the ordering area and a few simple seats.

Is the 2nd floor good for studying or eating solo?
The 2nd floor of Famous Benny is bigger than I expected, and the wood tones make it cozy. The table height was comfortable for eating, and I secretly loved how many outlets there were.

Bringing a laptop to work here seems fine too. It doesn't feel awkward to come alone, so it should work well as a solo brunch spot in Gwangalli.
Famous Benny brunch menu: lots of choices
The menu at Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch lists the ingredients in each dish, which made choosing easy. There's quite a variety of brunch dishes, and you can add the ingredients you want to the basic set, so it's easy to build one to your taste.

Above all, looking at the menu, you get a strong sense that they don't skimp on ingredients. If you want a proper meal rather than one lonely sandwich when looking for brunch in Gwangalli, this should suit you.

What I ordered and the prices
- Avocado toast ₩16,000
- Decaf Americano ₩6,500
- Matcha latte ₩5,500
- Passion fruit ade ₩6,500

Avocado toast: is it good without meat?
Famous Benny's avocado toast (₩16,000) was filling and delicious even with no meat. It was my first avocado toast ever, and I happened to crave something healthy that day. It's perfect for that!

There are lots of vegetables too, so you don't even need to order a separate salad. Compare it with my fist: it's big, right?! I can't believe something without meat can taste this good.. The sauce is mildly sweet with a subtle nutty flavor, and if you squeeze lemon juice over it, it gets an extra sweet-and-sour kick, which I loved.

Decaf Americano: nutty, with no sourness
The decaf Americano (₩6,500) at Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch tasted nutty, with no sourness. An iced Americano is a must with brunch, right~ I ordered mine decaf.

When I have decaf coffee elsewhere, the sourness comes through strongly, but Famous Benny's decaf is nutty and I couldn't taste any sourness, which I liked.

Matcha latte: a strong matcha style
Famous Benny's matcha latte (₩5,500) is the kind where you clearly taste matcha's deep, rich flavor. I didn't drink it in the café; I took it to go and had it separately on my way out. The matcha latte looked like a signature on the menu, so I got curious and ordered it, and this... the matcha flavor was strong and I liked it.
It's not the kind where only the milk or sweetness comes through and the matcha aroma is weak; you can clearly taste matcha's own deep flavor. Exactly my favorite matcha latte style, haha. If you like matcha, try ordering one along with your meal.

Passion fruit ade and the morning mood of the Gwangalli alley
Famous Benny's passion fruit ade (₩6,500) was sweet and tangy, great to sip with brunch. I recommend it if you like sweet but refreshing drinks.
Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch isn't a flashy ocean-view café; it feels like starting the morning quietly in a Gwangalli alley, with a charm different from the bustling seaside vibe. If you're looking for a relaxed Gwangalli brunch, this kind of atmosphere should work nicely. Every single item was carefully made and tasty, so I'll definitely be back.
