I finally made it to Highline Seongsu Café, a place I'd wanted to visit every time I went to Seongsu. I'd seen photos of their French toast forever and always wanted to try it. It's set slightly off the main Seongsu street, so I could spend time there fairly comfortably, and the sweet corn French toast I'd been looking forward to was delicious — I left in a great mood. ☺️

Where is Highline Seongsu Café? A 2nd-floor space near Seoul Forest

Highline sits in an alley just off the main Seongsu street where the crowds gather. It's on the 2nd floor of a building, but there's a Highline poster and signage at the entrance, so it wasn't as hard to find as I expected. Honestly, I liked being slightly away from the bustling heart of Seongsu.

When you're on a date in Seongsu, sometimes even cafés are so crowded you can't really relax — but this place felt much more spacious and easygoing.😌

What are the interior and seating like at Highline Seongsu Café?

Climb to the 2nd floor and you're greeted by a space much bigger than expected. The modern interior uses concrete and metal, with a huge picture window that makes everything feel open and airy. There's a long bar seating area running along the window, plus plenty of tables in the center. It looked good for a two-person conversation as well as for a group visit. I personally liked that the tables weren't cramped together.

Flower decorations are scattered throughout the space, which oddly worked well with the cool, industrial interior. Sunlight pouring in through the big windows made for a great atmosphere during the day. ✨ There's also a corner styled with an unusual mirror and floral decor. True to a Seongsu café, they didn't skip the photo-worthy spots!

Since the space is on the larger side, it was a solid choice if you're looking for a Seongsu café date spot or a large Seongsu café to spend some relaxed time in. Reservations and group use are said to be available, so if you're planning a gathering or private booking, it's worth checking availability and conditions with the café beforehand.

Highline Seongsu Café menu and prices

Highline Seongsu Café's menu board. I ordered three things: iced americano (₩6,000), tropical ade (₩8,500), and sweet corn French toast (₩15,000).

Highline's menu ranges from sweet corn coffee, crème brûlée latte, and matcha latte to desserts like pavlova, choco matcha brownie, and cheesecake. But my one goal that day was set from the start: sweet corn French toast! 🌽

Sweet corn French toast, 15,000 won

This was the biggest reason I wanted to come to Highline Seongsu.😍 It looked so delicious in photos that I'd wanted to try it for ages. In person, the thick French toast came topped with ice cream, cream, and grilled corn, and it looked as good as it did in the photos. The toast is quite thick, so even one order is fairly filling as a dessert.

As the ice cream melts slightly on the warm toast and mingles with the cream, the combination is genuinely delicious. It's not just sweet — the nutty flavor of the sweet corn comes through too, so it didn't feel too much even by the end. The soft cream is sweet and nutty at once, and it tasted even better when I dipped the toast generously in it. ☺️ If you like French toast, this is worth trying at Highline.

Iced americano, 6,000 won

I ordered an iced americano to go with the sweet French toast. The coffee was stronger than I expected, which I liked — since the sweet corn French toast is a sweet menu item topped with cream and ice cream, it paired well with a clean, strong americano. A bite of sweet dessert, then a sip of cool coffee — just right. If you're ordering the French toast, I'd personally recommend pairing it with an americano too.

Tropical ade, 8,500 won

For a non-coffee drink, I ordered the tropical ade.🍹 Its pink color alone made it a great photo subject. Passion fruit sits at the bottom, and with the fizzy soda, it was a refreshing drink. Since the French toast is sweet and nutty, pairing it with a tangy ade worked well too. If you like coffee, go with the americano; if you want something lighter and more refreshing, the tropical ade is a good choice.

Is Highline Seongsu Café worth it for a café date in Seongsu?

Highline Seongsu is set a bit away from the main Seongsu café street. So it was a good spot to visit when I wanted to relax somewhere spacious after exploring Seoul Forest or Seongsu.☺️ If the sweet corn French toast is your main goal, make sure to order it. Since it comes topped with ice cream, I personally thought it tasted better eaten right away while still warm, rather than leaving it out too long.❤️
