Outdoor terrace samgyeopsal near Ansan Jungang Station: Gogit-ri 88
In short
Gogit-ri 88beonji Ansan Gojan Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant in the food alley by the Central Plaza and Culture Plaza in Gojan-dong, Ansan, Gyeonggi, near Jungang Station. On an evening visit, the Gogit-ri Assorted A platter (500g of pork belly, pork neck and jowl meat) was grilled at an open-air terrace table, and all three cuts tasted clean with clearly different textures. Gogit-ri 88beonji is worth a look when you want grilled pork and a drink outdoors instead of in a closed dining room.

Where is Gogit-ri 88beonji Ansan Gojan Branch?

I visited Gogit-ri 88beonji Ansan Gojan Branch in Gojan-dong, Ansan. It sits on the food alley near Gojan-dong's central plaza and Culture Plaza, so it's easy enough to find. I stopped by in the evening for some meat with a glass of soju.
What the outdoor terrace is like at night
The first thing that caught my eye at Gogit-ri 88beonji Ansan Gojan Branch was how they used the outdoor terrace to create an open-air BBQ atmosphere. The space is set up so you can enjoy that outdoor feeling when the weather's decent, which gives a totally different vibe from eating indoors where it can feel a bit stuffy.

There's a certain charm to grilling meat with a gentle outdoor breeze, so even before the food arrived, the atmosphere alone was already putting me in a good mood.
Menu and order: Gogit-ri Assorted A 500g

After sitting down and looking over the menu, we ordered the 'Gogit-ri Assorted A (500g)' that day.

Once we ordered, the basic side dishes came out along with various sauces, lettuce wraps, and pastes to go with the meat. It's a clean, well-rounded setup made for pairing with grilled meat.

The Gogit-ri Assorted A 500g came out next, packed onto one plate with three cuts — pork belly, pork neck, and jowl meat. True to the 500g portion, the meat was piled on thick and generous, so it looked plenty even before cooking. The biggest advantage of this assorted platter is being able to sample several cuts at once without ordering each separately.

Cut by cut: pork neck, pork belly and jowl meat
Once the grill heated up, I put the meat on. The pork neck was cut fairly thick, which worked well for searing the outside first to lock in the juices. It wasn't dry when chewed — you could really taste that savory, lean texture.

The pork belly had a good ratio of fat to lean meat, so once grilled golden brown, that savory fatty flavor really came through. It was a classic pork belly taste, easy to enjoy with a bit of salt or wasabi.

The jowl meat kept its signature slightly crunchy yet chewy texture, giving it a different appeal from the pork belly and neck. The more I chewed, the more that clean, savory flavor came through.

All three cuts were clean with no gamey smell, and the differences in texture and flavor were distinct enough that it was fun to grill and alternate between them on the pan. Eating in the open outdoor terrace, with that smoky char in the air, made the meat taste even better.

Is Gogit-ri 88beonji worth a visit?
Gogit-ri 88beonji Ansan Gojan Branch was a place where I could properly enjoy pork belly, pork neck, and jowl meat through the generous Gogit-ri Assorted A 500g platter, all while soaking up Gojan-dong's distinctive open-air BBQ atmosphere.

If you're near Gojan-dong in Ansan and want meat and a drink with an open, breezy outdoor feel, this place is worth keeping in mind.
