Ichigyu Wonju is a gyukatsu (breaded beef cutlet) restaurant on the ground floor of the Lotte Cinema building in Musil-dong, Wonju. Arriving at 1:30pm on a Saturday meant signing a paper waitlist behind 3-4 parties, then grilling the double set (jumbo) over a tabletop brazier with melting butter, with free rice refills. Basement parking, baby chairs and four-person tables make Ichigyu Wonju easy for both dates and family meals.

Still cold on arrival in Seoul and delicious portioned out over white rice — a solid pick if you're passing through the market.

Cafe Neorae is a large café spanning floors 2 to 4 of a building in Sokcho's Haksapyeong Sundubu Village, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing Ulsanbawi Rock. 24-hour hangover soup with sundubu yukgaejang set in Wonju

With wide self-parking on floors 1 and 2 and round-the-clock hours, it works for both lunch and a pre-dawn hangover fix.

Visiting on a Saturday at 12:30pm during the buckwheat flower festival, the writer waited 35 minutes via a KakaoTalk waitlist, then ate buckwheat pancake, the idaepal 100% buckwheat migamyeon, raw beef bibim noodles, and plain bibim noodles with the kids, plus the ₩1,000 rice set. Adding kelp vinegar from the very first bite turned out to be the best way to enjoy the plain, nutty buckwheat noodles here.

Sokcho Topgol Makguksu Main Branch is a Korean restaurant near Sokcho Beach and the Sokcho Eye Ferris wheel serving buckwheat makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles). Café parking right out front for drip latte at Coffee Dripper

Coffee Dripper is a drip coffee and dessert café in Chodang-dong, Gangneung, right in front of the famous café Toetmaru. Parking directly outside the store made it an easy stop, and the drip latte, patbingsu (shaved ice dessert), and croffin chocolate were all satisfying, with a strong coffee flavor and not-too-sweet red beans. If you're looking for a coffee and dessert café with easy parking on a Chodang-dong course, Coffee Dripper is worth recommending.
