Sisters share mixed katsu set and cheese katsu in Chuncheon

I'm meany, and I absolutely love tonkatsu. As always, I'm back with another tonkatsu restaurant post! Today I'm introducing Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Toegye Branch, a Toegye-dong restaurant in Chuncheon 🙌🏻

Location and parking at Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Toegye Branch

Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Toegye Branch is 940 meters from Exit 2 of Namchuncheon Station.

Since it's in an alley commercial area, you can park in the alley, or conveniently use the building's basement parking :)

Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Toegye Branch is a place that prioritizes the natural flavor of ingredients and honest cooking, which is why I visit often. They insist on 100% fresh domestic pork and start cooking only after you order, so both kids and adults can enjoy a delicious meal here.

There's also a menu board near the entrance.

It's popular enough with guaranteed good taste that you can walk in without hesitation ❗️

Seating and interior atmosphere

Walking into Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Toegye Branch, I found tables for 2 up to tables for 4. Since it's expanded across units 101 and 102, there were plenty of tables, which I really liked :)

There's also a country-of-origin board next to the kitchen, and everything is clearly labeled, which makes it an even more trustworthy tonkatsu restaurant.

If you need an apron, you can grab one hanging on the wall near the entrance :)

Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Toegye Branch offers a huge variety: the popular mixed katsu set, Western-style king tonkatsu set, kimchi cheese nabe, hire katsu (fillet) set, sashimi katsu set, triple mixed katsu set, hangjeong (pork jowl) katsu set, loin katsu set, premium loin katsu set, spicy tonkatsu set, sweet potato cheese katsu set, cheese-loaded katsu set, plus cream pasta, garlic chipotle pasta, aglio e olio pasta, fish cake udon, kimchi fish cake udon, chilled buckwheat noodles, gyudon, plain tonkatsu, curry rice, and beef belly curry rice.

What the two sisters ordered

I visited with my sister, and since we were so, so hungry, we ordered the Jeongseong mixed katsu set, an extra order of cheese-loaded katsu (2p), and the cream pasta I'd been wanting to try for ages :)

Jeongseong mixed katsu set

First, the Jeongseong mixed katsu set. It lets you enjoy pork loin, tenderloin, and shrimp tempura together, and comes with miso soup, rice, curry, cabbage salad, pickles, and kimchi to go with the katsu, along with salt, wasabi, and tonkatsu sauce for dipping.

The reason I love Jeongseong Katsu is that the set comes with Japanese-style curry included... usually curry is an extra charge, but here it's included in the set haha.

If you want loin and tenderloin as your main but also really want to try the cheese katsu, adding it as an extra is the best move 💗 If you don't eat much, I'd recommend the triple mixed katsu set instead, which lets you have loin, tenderloin, and cheese katsu all together :)

₩9,900 cream pasta

And here's the cream pasta I was really curious about. It's sold for only ₩9,900, so I'd long wondered what the taste would be like at such a low price. But the portion is huge and the visuals are insane ㅜㅠ Especially the amount of cheese piled on top,,, how is this quality possible at this price?

Personally I like my cream pasta really thick and rich, and with all that cheese piled on, it was extremely thick 🤤 When the noodles and cheese come together in one big bite, the flavor is out of this world,,,

And the Jeongseong mixed katsu, well, no words needed,, you get loin, tenderloin, and shrimp tempura all together, so there's no meal more filling than this.

Was it too much for two people?

Two sisters with big appetites ordered generously like this, ate about 2/3 of it, said 'I'm full' a hundred times, but the food was so delicious we ended up finishing it all,,,
