A spot near Sinjung-dong Station where the meat and grilling won me over
On days like these, when I'm craving meat, I need a proper, delicious grill to recharge, you know? Today, I visited a place near Sinjung-dong Station where I loved both the quality of the meat and the grilling service.

Let me tell you about my visit to Cham Dwaejitgan Bucheon Sinjung-dong Branch (참돼짓간 부천신중동점), where they carefully grill Jirisan black pork and Boseong Nokdon pork.

Minari, scallion salad, and four sauces
A neat spread of side dishes and sauces brings out the meat's flavor even more.

Fresh Korean-grown minari (water dropwort) and pa-jeori (seasoned scallion salad) came with the meal, and they were great alongside the meat.
- Four sauces: ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste), spicy sauce, salt, and wasabi
- Basic sides: Korean-grown minari, pa-jeori, garlic scapes, lettuce, bean sprouts, mushroom wasabi, garlic, and peppers

Kimchi, lettuce, and perilla leaves also arrived as wrap vegetables and sides. Putting the clean-tasting mushroom wasabi and garlic scapes on top of the meat really brought out the savory flavor.

The side dishes were generous, too, making it fun to try all sorts of combinations.

Boseong Nokdon pork belly and black pork five-layer belly
Quality Jirisan black pork and Boseong Nokdon pork are grilled with charcoal and rice-husk smoking. A skilled staff member handles the grilling personally from start to finish, so we could simply relax and enjoy it.

We ordered two portions of Boseong Nokdon cham samgyeopsal (pork belly) and one portion of black pork ogyeopsal (five-layer pork belly) to compare them. Their special handmade grill keeps grease from splattering, which made the meal much more comfortable without worrying about oil on our clothes. The subtle aroma of rice-husk smoking had soaked deep into the meat, and savory juices spread with every bite.

The golden-grilled black pork ogyeopsal had a wonderful balance of chewy skin and lean meat. After tasting the meat's natural flavor with a light dip of salt, I tried it with spicy sauce and wasabi—and the soju went down sweetly!
Finishing with soybean paste stew and rice
Ending the meal with hearty doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) and a bowl of rice made for a satisfying finish.

The doenjang-jjigae was packed with tofu, mushrooms, and zucchini, and its rich broth was so good it made the rice disappear.
- Doenjang-jjigae: Its rich broth and generous ingredients cut through the richness of the meat nicely
- Rice: Warm and glossy as if freshly cooked, and excellent with the stew
- Tip: Try putting grilled minari and kimchi on top of the rice

Keep peak-time waits in mind
That said, it can get busy at peak times, so I recommend asking ahead if you're planning a gathering. From the meat quality to the organized grilling service, it feels like a great option when you're looking for pork belly near Sinjung-dong Station.
