Bucheon bar with ragu cream tteokbokki and patio tables: Yeongpo

In short

Yeongpo is a pet-friendly bar in Bucheon, Gyeonggi, with outdoor patio tables. We stopped by for a second round with my lab members and had ragu cream tteokbokki for 20,000 won and seafood ramyeon. Verdict: a great second-stop bar when you want patio drinks and creamy food.

Yeongpo’s location and visitor information in Sinjung-dong’s patio-bar street

I was working recently when I suddenly started craving meat, so I had a spontaneous meetup in Sinjung-dong with my lab members. But it felt way too sad to just go home~! The weather was sooo nice that day, and I thought a drink on the patio-bar street would feel amazing :) So, while looking for somewhere for our second round, we headed to the newly opened Yeongpo!

Yeongpo visitor information

Yeongpo is tucked inside the food alley on the car-free patio-bar street near the Sinjung-dong clock tower!

Pets are welcome, so I recommend it if you’re looking for a pet-friendly bar in Sinjung-dong, haha. Only small dogs can enter, though, while the outdoor patio tables are open to pets without restrictions, so keep that in mind!

Corkage isn’t available, so you can’t bring in outside alcohol. It isn’t a huge bar, but private bookings are possible for groups of 15 to 40, so keep it in mind if you’re looking for a venue!

Where can you park?

Yeongpo is in Sinjung-dong’s car-free food alley, so parking isn’t available! If you need to park, a public parking lot near Sinjung-dong Station would be a good option~

The outdoor patio and indoor seating atmosphere

Because Yeongpo in Sinjung-dong is on the patio-bar street, outdoor tables are set up in front of the bar. There were about five patio tables!

A banner beneath the Yeongpo sign said that, as an opening event, the first 10 teams each day get one side dish for free~~! You can join after calling a staff member, so take note!!

Looking out toward the front from inside, it seemed like such a nice date spot too! While we were eating, a couple came in and sat facing the patio area, and it looked sooo good for a date in Sinjung-dong ㅠㅠ!!

Inside, there were about nine tables for two to three people in total. Three tables near the entrance were pushed together, so they looked great as a group table for 10! It felt perfect for a small group gathering, a friends’ meetup, or a date?

It hasn’t been open for long, so the interior is super clean! Disposable aprons were prepared on one side too, which was sooo nice for someone like me who spills things all the time, haha. Each table was set with a portable gas burner, small plates, and cups too, haha.

Tablet ordering and the menu selection

You order through the tablet at each table~ The first page explains a review event, and they give you a complimentary dish if you join, so I totally recommend getting that free dish!

Ragu cream tteokbokki and seafood ramyeon for our second round

We ordered the ragu cream tteokbokki for ₩20,000 and a seafood ramyeon!

Ordered dishes and table setting

They served water that was like Hovenia tea, so we were really satisfied as people stopping by for a second round, haha.

And my favorite complimentary snack! They give you spicy Saewookkang shrimp crackers instead of puffed rice crackers!! It was absolutely perfect with soju and to snack on before the food came out, haha.

Our first dish was the ragu cream tteokbokki! Since we came for a second round, we were full and wondered what to eat, but all three of us were craving something creamy, so we ordered the ragu cream tteokbokki, haha.

The ragu cream tteokbokki is made with a cream-based sauce and house-made ragu!!

Inside were pasta noodles and chewy yet soft rice cakes, haha. I thought it would only have tteokbokki, but it was packed with pasta noodles too!

Pasta is surprisingly perfect with soju, so I think we chose well!! They piled plenty of cheese powder on top, and there was seriously so much ragu that I ate it by the spoonful, haha.

We sat beside the kitchen, and I really liked seeing them cook each order right away!

Halfway through, we wanted something brothy but were so full that we wondered what to get, then ordered a seafood ramyeon too. It felt like the perfect hangover cure and was the best drinking snack, haha.

They gave us kimchi too, which was totally great. The owner also gave us watermelon and melon drizzled with condensed milk on the house!

Honestly, even though it was our second round, we ended up drinking a ton of soju! The atmosphere was comfortable and the food was delicious, so the soju went down even more easily~
