When you're heading out to Yeouido's Han River park or Yeouido Park, is there really any food more essential than Korean street snacks?

Yesterday's Yeouido Fireworks Festival called for a mandatory stop, so here's my record of a takeout visit to Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch.

Living up to its reputation as one of Seoul's top three tteokbokki spots, every item in the set was satisfying — and thanks to packaging optimized for park takeout, eating outdoors was really comfortable.
Where is Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch and how do you get there?
Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is at 10 Gukjegeumyung-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, on level L2 of IFC Mall. Being inside IFC Mall, connected to Yeouido Station, makes it easy to visit regardless of the weather.

The clean, pleasant interior, hygienic packaging system, and excellent access to both Yeouido Park and the Han River park are all pluses. On days with big events like the fireworks festival, ordering takeout ahead of time can really streamline your route.
What we ordered: the ₩23,000 Hyeonseonine Set and a cider
That day at Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch, I went with the flagship combo, the Hyeonseonine Set (₩23,000), plus a refreshing cider.

The Hyeonseonine Set includes the following.
- Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes)
- Assorted fried snacks
- Sundae (Korean blood sausage)
- Mini gimbap (seaweed rice rolls)

With all four core snack menu items packed in generously, it's a plentiful amount for 2–3 people to enjoy.
Takeout packaging: sealed containers, an included knife and heat retention
For food meant for an outdoor outing, the most important thing is the state of the packaging — and Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch's packaging exceeded expectations.

- Sealed packaging: carefully sealed in dedicated containers with no worry of broth or sauce leaking, which was very reassuring during transport.
- Convenience: a dedicated knife was included, so I could cleanly cut open the plastic wrap even on an outdoor bench or picnic mat.

Heat retention: even after carrying it all the way to Yeouido Park, the tteokbokki and fried snacks stayed warm, tasting almost like eating straight from the restaurant.
How each dish in the Hyeonseonine Set tasted
Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes)
Soft, chewy rice cakes soaked through with an addictive sauce. It's appropriately spicy while keeping that savory depth alive, and I got why this place is called a Yeouido tteokbokki favorite and one of Seoul's top three. The broth is generous, so it's also great for dipping the fried snacks or gimbap.
Assorted fried snacks
A crispy assortment with real crunch intact. The oil is well-drained, so it's not greasy and has a nutty, savory character. Dipped in the tteokbokki broth, the spiciness and savoriness balance out nicely.
Sundae (blood sausage)
An assorted sundae (blood sausage) with no off smell at all, moist and soft. The glass noodles inside are firm and springy, delicious even with just a light dip in salt, and it pairs beautifully with the tteokbokki sauce too. The organ bits mixed in are all tasty as well.

Mini gimbap (seaweed rice rolls)

The mini gimbap, fragrant with sesame oil, is packed full inside and easy to pop in one bite. It does a great job acting as a buffer between bites, tempering the spiciness of the tteokbokki.
Verdict: Hyeonseonine takeout for a Yeouido Park fireworks picnic

With the delicious Hyeonseonine Set packed to go, I set up a spot at Yeouido Park and enjoyed a full spread of Korean snacks.

Spreading out the tteokbokki, sundae, fried snacks, and gimbap on the picnic mat, adding a cold cider on top, doubled the excitement of the festival.

After filling up on delicious food, watching the Yeouido Fireworks Festival felt like pure perfection.

If you're planning a Yeouido outing or a Han River picnic, or looking for a good place to eat near IFC Mall, I'd highly recommend picking up a tteokbokki set from Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch without hesitation!
