Yeouido private-room Korean BBQ feast: Yuk Lab Yeouido

Since so many places sell beef at such high prices, I usually do not eat it out and just grill it at home.. But~~! Yuk Lab Yeouido, which I visited this time, is such a good-value beef place that I had to check it out!!!

Yuk Lab Yeouido location and hours, right by Yeouido Station

Yuk Lab Yeouido is literally a 5-second walk from Exit 5 of Yeouido Station! It is on the second floor of Yeouido General Shopping Center!

• No parking
• I also heard you can park at Yeouido General Shopping Center, but it seems they may not provide parking support.. This is not certain!

Exterior

Since it is in the shopping center right in front of the station, it is pretty easy to find! Head up to the second floor and toward the samgyetang restaurant, and you will spot Yuk Lab right away!! It is the black shop near the end of the hallway! The one with liquor bottles displayed outside like this!!!

A Yeouido beef restaurant made entirely of private rooms

The whole interior is made up of private rooms! Such a great spot for a private meal. There are not that many rooms, so make a reservation in advance if you are coming as a group..

This is what the rooms are like inside. The lighting is soft, so it is not a super bright restaurant! It feels like a nice place to come for beef and a drink in the evening?! The rooms can be connected, which is great because groups can join them together and eat as one.

Banchan and dipping sauces for the meat

The banchan (Korean side dishes) looked like this! There was ssamjang, garlic sauce, wasabi, whole-grain mustard, cabbage, myeonginamul (pickled garlic leaves), onion, napa cabbage kimchi, seasoned chili peppers, and seasoned eggplant—perfect to have with the meat!!

These are the sauces that are good for dipping the meat. Curry powder/salt/cumin/and I am not quite sure what this is.. sesame oil, maybe.

The 2-person Yuk Lab Set was ₩67,000 (boneless beef short rib 120g + lamb ribs 230g + hanging tender 120g + 3 pieces of 10-second cheese + doenjang-jjigae), and the sirloin was ₩25,000. This is what we ordered!

Boneless beef short rib 120g, lamb ribs 230g, hanging tender 120g, and sirloin 120g. They told us to eat the meat in the order shown on the platter, 1-2-3-4: 1 (boneless beef short rib), 3 (hanging tender), 2 (sirloin), then 4 (lamb ribs)!

Looking at the grams, I thought it might not be enough, so I added sirloin too.. But oh, once it arrived, it was actually quite a generous amount! They also bring garlic scapes, mushrooms, potatoes, rice cakes, zucchini, and bell peppers to grill together, and you can order more without an extra charge!

The doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) included with the 2-person set! Sadly, rice has to be ordered separately! A bowl of steamed rice is ₩1,500.

The order we ate, from boneless beef short rib to lamb ribs

Boneless beef short rib.. This is Yuk Lab's signature item. It is one of the best cuts from beef ribs, with tender meat, and is also called flower rib meat! You get five pieces for 120g! Since it is not a very fatty cut, it is nice and clean to start with. First, pure and simple.. just a little dip in salt, then wrap it in myeonginamul, and after trying it this way and that way, it was gone in no time.

Sirloin! It comes in two long pieces, and this one is thick and fattier, so it has even better flavor.

Hanging tender. It is a special cut from the inside of the beef ribs, close to the organs, so it has a deep beefy flavor! It is low in fat too! Around this point, I was starting to get full... Beef really is filling...

Lamb ribs! These are lamb ribs from lamb under 12 months old, aged with seasoning, so the meat is tender and has less of that gamey smell! You can call a staff member to separate the bones and cut the lamb ribs too! I had just ordered another beer at the perfect moment, so a staff member came over and took care of it all smoothly.

Lamb ribs definitely taste best with some grilled vegetables on the side. Dipping them generously in cumin and chomping away..

The total for two people eating until we were full

Even while singing, “I am so full, I am so full,” we cleaned every last bit off the plates!!!! Hahahahaha

Being able to eat beef until you are full for ₩100,000... the value really is great. They even have Febreze ready for you to spray on properly before heading out! When I was leaving, it looked like lots of people come here for company dinners too. Private-room restaurants serving beef tend to be really expensive, but the meat quality here was decent and the prices were so reasonable, so I think it is a really great-value place to visit!
