Korean restaurant in Bucheon with refillable side dishes: Kim Myeongju
In short
Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang is a Korean restaurant in Jungdong, Bucheon, serving full set meals and à la carte dishes. We ordered two Tteuranchae table settings and soy-marinated crab for 44,000 won, with refillable side dishes, hwangmi pot rice, and scorched-rice soup. Verdict: a Korean restaurant I would happily revisit for family meals or dates.

A Korean restaurant in Jungdong for group gatherings and buying side dishes
Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang (김명주뜰안채밥상), Jungdong Branch is a great place near Sinjung-dong Station for Korean food or a gathering ^^

Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang is a place where you can hold group gatherings, dine in, and buy side dishes like this.

How to order the Tteuranchae table setting and a look inside
Here is the Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang menu. For two people, order one Tteuranchae setting per person plus one à la carte dish. From elementary-school age, everyone needs an individual Tteuranchae setting ^^

I loved how clean and upscale the interior was~ Even for two people, the tables are large, so you can eat very comfortably ^^ Reservations make seating even easier too, so this is somewhere I want to visit again.
Why Minggu strongly recommends it!
- A great place for group gatherings, families, and couples
- The side dishes are seriously so good. Every single one here is delicious.
- The self-service bar was genuinely satisfying ^^
- The quality of the dishes we ordered makes me want to come back

Ordering the Tteuranchae table setting and soy-marinated crab
Haminggu's pick Tteuranchae table setting: ₩13,000 per person × 2 À la carte dish 1: soy-marinated crab ₩18,000 Total: ₩44,000

The included side dishes were seasoned eggplant, marinated perilla leaves, japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), braised potatoes, wrap greens, dried radish greens, godulppaegi (seasoned bitter-root greens), garlic scapes, kimchi, spinach, seasoned deodeok (bellflower root), and more. You can refill as much as you can eat at the self-service bar ^*^
The Tteuranchae table setting comes with a medium-sized bowl of sweet, savory cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) and hwangmi pot rice ^*^ Hwangmi rice is so good for you, and it is even better served in a hot pot here at Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang, Jungdong Branch.

We ordered soy-marinated crab as an à la carte dish, and it was sweet, tender, and fairly meaty~ It was well prepared, clean-tasting, and nicely salty—such a good soy-marinated crab to eat in Sinjung-dong haha. If you are craving a soy-marinated crab set meal, come here.
Next time, I want to try the grilled mackerel or pork dishes from the à la carte menu.

Why the self-service side-dish bar was especially satisfying
The reason I was so satisfied here: the self-service bar ^&^ It is perfect.

It was kept clean and hygienic, and every single side dish was delicious~ The seasoned deodeok was fresh and spicy, while the fried lotus root had that crispy-chewy texture. The seasoned peppers were spicy, the spinach was clean-tasting, and the young-radish kimchi was good enough to make me want to buy it. Delicious Korean side dishes for the first time in a while 🧡🧡

All the side dishes can be refilled, there is plenty of food, and everything is displayed so neatly. I also loved being able to take warm braised potatoes straight from a pot like this haha. Hwangmi rice and white rice can be refilled at no extra charge too. Truly the best!
Plum tea and omija (five-flavor berry) tea are available for dessert.
The fried lotus root and young-radish barley water kimchi were only at the self-service bar. I normally hate leaving food behind, so I tend to take only what I can eat—but! The side dishes here were so good that I got refills haha.

My sister and I are really light eaters. We normally cannot even finish one bowl of rice, but we refilled our rice here. (The side dishes really are that good..) I love Korean food, and it was lovely that each carefully made side dish had its own distinct, clean flavor.

My four personal favorite side dishes
Godulppaegi, spinach, fried lotus root, and seasoned deodeok.

I finished with my favorite dessert: sungnyung (scorched-rice soup) from the pot rice. I ate it with the side dishes too haha.
