A beef-and-pork barbecue restaurant near Jonggak Station
Gogikkun Kim Chunbae Jongno Branch is on the fifth floor at 17 Samil-daero 17-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul. It is about 330m from Exit 4 of Jonggak Station by subway.
You can use Jonggak-ap Nosang Gongyeong Juchajang, a public street parking lot about a three-minute walk away, but since it is street parking, there do not seem to be many spaces! It is the building with Sinchon Hwangso Gopchang on the first floor—head up to the visible fifth floor.

Seating that looked great for group dinners
Oh, there were quite a lot more seats inside than I expected. The chairs were high like partitions, so it felt separated from the tables beside us! It looked good for sitting in a group too, so I think it would be great for a company dinner!! Above all, the lighting was perfectly dim-but-bright—so good for drinks 💡

The recommended set with both beef and pork
The menu was full of beef and pork choices💕 Corkage is free except for types of alcohol the restaurant sells.

They also had something called a Korean beef cake, haha. I want this instead of a regular cake, haha. Reservations are required!
There were two of us, so we ordered the 500g recommended set! It was listed as today’s Korean beef 150g + pork neck 200g + ogyeopsal 150g.
Baek-kimchi (white kimchi), pa-kimchi (green onion kimchi), pickled onions, and pickled gungchae (sunflower stem) also came out.

Wasabi, maybe garlic sauce?, ssamjang (savory dipping paste), and salt. Every dipping sauce was delicious in its own way!

🏷️ The 500g recommended set was described as today’s Korean beef 150g + pork neck 200g + ogyeopsal 200g. It was nice to taste several kinds of meat, and being able to have beef and pork together was another plus!

Today’s Korean beef grilled over charcoal
I forgot to ask which cut it was.. Tenderloin, maybe..? Anyway, every cut of beef is good 🫶
The fire was charcoal, just how I like it..🔥 Meat has to be grilled over charcoal to taste good!! They grilled it for us too! The color of the beef was sooo nice..

The beef was delicious!! It was packed with juices like in the photo, so moist and tasty, haha.

Thick pork neck and juicy ogyeopsal
The pork neck was super thick too! Totally had the look of a pork-neck steak!! The meljeot (salted anchovy sauce) here was so goodㅠㅠ I really love meljeot..🩷

Do you know that pleasantly chewy pork rind on ogyeopsal..!!

The ogyeopsal was so juicy and delicious ㅠㅠ I recommend the ogyeopsal!! 👍👍

Fried rice and half-and-half naengmyeon after the meat
Kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) fried rice ❤️

It was not too spicy or overpowering, which made it even more delicious. I just kept eating it, you know?

Half-and-half naengmyeon (cold noodles) 🍜 When I have cold noodles for dessert, it is always hard to choose between mul-naengmyeon (broth cold noodles) or bibim-naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles), so I loved that this was half-and-half!!

Cleared it all again today—✨
Photo receipt review event
With the photo receipt review event, you can choose one of beef brisket doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew), pork kimchi-jjigae (kimchi stew), or steamed egg. Make sure to get the most out of the review event too, haha.
I think the combination that lets you eat beef and pork together is so good! There are lots of seats, but the atmosphere still feels private, so I think it is great for groups too! I recommend it for a Jongno Korean barbecue group dinner!!
