A fun place even if you come alone!

The hallway atmosphere before entering the bar

We were really nervous before going in! But once we actually walked in, the staff kept talking to us and helping us get to know the people around us, so it didn't feel awkward at all!

The male staff member especially worked hard talking to us and connecting us with the people nearby — it was so fun!

Inside the venue after being shown in by staff

We hesitated for a long time about whether to go in, but once we did, and just stood there, staff immediately showed us to a seat! Finding our own seat would have felt awkward, but the staff talked us through it and guided us toward people who were already there.

What's the seating layout like inside?

The inside was much more spacious than it looked from outside. And to avoid awkwardness, every table was set up facing each other, which made it easy to have comfortable conversations!

What time is best to go to a Daejeon solo-drinking bar?

The interior atmosphere around 10pm

For reference, we visited around 10pm. From what I heard, most places open at 8pm and a lot of people come for a second round after their first drink somewhere else, so after 10pm is said to be the hottest time!

So if you want to meet different kinds of people, I'd recommend coming after 10pm.

Quiet, and great vibes

From non-alcoholic to a range of alcohol strengths

Menu listing cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks

The best thing about Ondo, the solo-drinking bar in Bongmyeong-dong, Daejeon! They have cocktails ranging widely in alcohol content down to non-alcoholic options, so it seemed like a great place even for people who can't drink to come along!

My friend who came with me that day has bad gastritis and can't drink, but there were plenty of non-alcoholic options for her to order.

Non-alcoholic mojito and Okbodan cocktail

That day we ordered a non-alcoholic mojito and an Okbodan. The cocktails themselves came out so pretty that we were super satisfied..❤️ Best of all, the cocktails were really cheap too, so it wasn't a burden even coming here as a second stop.

A beautifully decorated cocktail
Ice cream dessert we ordered as an extra

❤️The cocktails were sooo delicious!!!!❤️ They were cheap AND delicious, so we ended up ordering ice cream too. It came nicely decorated as well, and was great for sharing.

Chatting with people, we lost track of time

The table where we sat with guests we had just met

That day we hung out with women in their mid-twenties!!! Not friends we already knew, but new ones — and talking with them was so, so fun!

We got so close that day that we were laughing and clutching our stomachs the whole time we talked!

My friend who came with me said this is exactly the kind of place to go when you want to make new friends!

What's the age range like at a solo-drinking bar?

The hall with guests of various age groups

Looking around, the ages of the people there seemed pretty varied. It looked like a mix of people in their 20s and 30s! That's just what we saw directly, but we also heard that a lot of people in their 40s come too!?

The friends we hung out with and I were in our 20s, but the mixed-gender table sitting right next to us was in their 30s!

Nachos and cheese received as a free service

And another great thing about this place!! One — the staff were so kind and gave us extra service..❤️ They even gave us delicious nachos and cheese, so we got to munch on snacks and chat away happily.
