On weekends when I want to feel a bit relaxed, I find myself preferring a spacious, laid-back large café over a crowded franchise coffee shop. It was one of those days I wanted to wake up leisurely and have a delicious brunch, and the place that always comes to mind is Chat Baker Brunch & Bakery Café, near Anseong Farm Land! It's also close to Starfield.

One of the great things here is that the entrance road is super wide and the parking lot is really spacious too. For newer drivers, nothing beats a café that's easy to park at.

Don't you feel how spacious it is right from the entrance of the store?
Inside Chat Baker: the water-curtain window and second-floor seats

You could really tell the owner put a lot of care into this Anseong café's interior — there's one window where it's always raining! Such a great mood.

The second-floor space is even bigger and nicer, so I headed up, and it turns out they even hold performances there!

This is the second-floor space — the modern room blended with plants is exactly the kind of place perfect for unwinding on a weekend.
There's a good variety of seat types, so it's nice to come with friends or with parents alike. There's also floor seating, which seemed especially popular with kids, haha.
You could really see the owner's personal taste in this corner, haha. Who knew there was such a pretty café near Starfield Anseong.

There's also a spot for warming up bread (an oven/microwave combo). I found a comfy sofa seat in one corner, so I grabbed it first and headed down to the first floor to order, haha.
What bread and pastries does Chat Baker bake?
Chat Baker, this café near Anseong Farm Land, really has a huge variety of baked goods! Fresh cream mont blanc, ciabatta sandwiches, madeleines, and other baked snacks.

Mango fresh cream croissant, pain suisse, croissants, and croukie varieties.

Chocolate scones, butter scones, thousand-layer croissants, mont blanc.

There was also squid ink cream cheese chewy bread, walnut red bean bread, and salt bread varieties.

Tomato basil cheese hotteok (sweet pancake), ham cheese croissant, hot chili sausage Danish — there were savory bread options too, which I imagine would be popular with the little ones, hahaha.

From cookies to a giant soufflé castella — there were even more kinds of bread here than I expected!

Of course, for those who want something sweet, there were plenty of cake options too. If you're worn out after a trip to Starfield Anseong nearby, one of these sweet cakes sounds perfect.

Ciabatta sandwich and iced coffee at Chat Baker
Since I came for brunch, I ordered an iced Americano, an iced latte, the sandwich, and the spicy tomato seafood pache pasta!

I tend to get the ciabatta sandwich every time I come, since it's not too heavy or intense in flavor, which is why it's personally my favorite item on their whole bakery lineup.

All the classic sandwich fillings are in there — bacon, lettuce, tomato!
The coffee is low in acidity too, which suits my taste. I recall they also had drip coffee, and you can even choose your beans!
How spicy is the tomato seafood pache pasta?

On top of that, pairing it with the spicy tomato pasta — made with a homemade tomato sauce and fresh seafood — made for the best weekend brunch.
