Gongju farmhouse restaurant for a three-generation meal: Bapkkot Hana
In short
Bapkkot Hana Pieotne is a Korean set-meal restaurant on Sinwonsa-ro in Gyeryong-myeon, Gongju, Chungnam, designated a farmhouse restaurant by the Rural Development Administration and an official spot for Gongju's local food brand Gomanaru. Three generations — grandparents, parents and children — shared minari tteokgalbi (grilled short-rib patty with water dropwort), a buckwheat noodle appetizer and side dishes of gangdoenjang and seasoned namul greens, and the daughter who normally picks out anything green kept reaching for the tteokgalbi on her own. The portions filled four adults to bursting, so Bapkkot Hana Pieotne is an easy choice for a family outing with parents and kids.

What kind of restaurant is Bapkkot Hana Pieotne in Gyeryong, Gongju?
Bapkkot Hana Pieotne (밥꽃하나피었네) is a Korean set-meal restaurant at 502 Sinwonsa-ro, Gyeryong-myeon, Gongju-si, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea. We took the grandparents and kids out for a long-overdue trip to Gongju's Gyeryong area, and the highlight of this outing was easily this neat, healthy Korean set-meal spot. The weather's been so nice lately too!!
You drive down a quiet country road to get there, so the healing starts right from the entrance — you leave the noise of the city behind and get to breathe in fresh country air.

The scenery around it was all lush green, so just looking out the window was enough to clear your eyes and your mind.

Thanks to the nature-friendly atmosphere, my parents were delighted even before we walked in. This place is designated a 'farmhouse restaurant' by the Rural Development Administration and is also a designated business under Gongju's local food brand 'Gomanaru (Dalgomnaru).'

As stated on the sign inside, they use no MSG at all and serve healthy food that keeps the natural flavors intact, which made me trust the place even more. Right in front of the restaurant is a large farm where they grow their own ingredients, so seeing it with my own eyes let me eat with real peace of mind. Since most of the ingredients are grown by hand and brought straight to the table, every dish felt full of care.

The tableware was neat and tidy too.

Minari tteokgalbi even a kid who avoids green food ate
Bapkkot Hana Pieotne has a solid lineup of handmade tteokgalbi (grilled rice cake meat patty) dishes, so I had zero worries about bringing my kid along. Choosing a menu is always the biggest headache when eating out with kids.
My daughter in particular has a picky palate — the moment she spots even a hint of green food, she pushes it aside without a second look. But she took one bite of the minari tteokgalbi here and said, "Mom, this is actually delicious!" and kept picking up her chopsticks on her own, nonstop. I was genuinely shocked.

The fragrant minari (water dropwort) and the savory tteokgalbi came together beautifully with no gamey aftertaste, so the kids could eat it happily without any resistance. The whole family felt healthier with every bite.
Buckwheat noodle appetizer, gangdoenjang and namul side dishes
Before the main dishes really got going, a buckwheat noodle dish came out like an appetizer, and it was truly a special treat.

I wasn't sure of its exact name at first, but the refreshing, nutty balance that woke up your palate had the whole family raving, and we emptied the plate in no time. If you visit, definitely give this one a try.

The banchan (side dishes) and namul (seasoned vegetables) served alongside tasted as fresh as if they'd just been picked from the field, with their natural aroma and texture coming through clearly. The gangdoenjang (thick fermented soybean paste stew), simmered until savory, wasn't salty at all and was seasoned just right — mixed into rice, it was addictively good.
The fried items and jeon (savory pancakes) came out crispy outside and moist inside, and there wasn't a single side dish we didn't reach for.

The soup was so good too~ T_T
How big are the portions at Bapkkot Hana Pieotne?
The main dish portions were seriously huge, T_T. There were four of us adults, and we thought we were going to burst..

TV features and Blue Ribbon Survey recognition
Looking at the hallway wall inside the restaurant, it was packed tight with framed clippings from being featured on shows like KBS 6 Si Naegohyang, TJB Today, and KBS News 9.

They also proudly display Blue Ribbon Survey certification stickers for both 2025 and 2026, confirming once again that this is a genuinely well-recognized Korean restaurant in Gongju. The owner and staff greeted us with bright, friendly smiles the whole time, so we felt well taken care of throughout the meal. The pride they clearly take in their food left a deep impression.

Is Bapkkot Hana Pieotne worth it for a family meal?
Bapkkot Hana Pieotne lets you enjoy a fresh, clean-air countryside setting alongside a Korean meal made with real care, making it perfect either as a filial trip out with your parents or a family meal with kids in tow. If you're after a healthy, delicious meal, I highly recommend Bapkkot Hana Pieotne in Gongju's Gyeryong.
