Seonjae-do dog pension with turf run and seafood barbecue: Luna Beach

Here's my review of Luna Beach Seonjae Hotel, a dog-friendly pension in Seonjae-do that I visited with my dog. I wanted a comfortable trip with my pup so I went looking for pet-friendly stays and ended up here — and to cut to the chase, the whole place was spacious and beautifully kept, with a pool, wide lawn, and barbecue area, so it was a great spot to spend a full day with my dog 🐶💛

Parking and the extra pet and barbecue fees at Luna Beach Seonjae

Luna Beach Seonjae Hotel sits on Seonjae-do, so just a short drive from Seoul you get to enjoy pretty skies and sea with your dog, haha, really nice. Parking is right in front of the pension and there was plenty of space!

*Note: there are extra charges for bringing a dog and for using the barbecue*

• Pet fee: ₩10,000 under 10kg / ₩20,000 over 10kg (charged for just one night even on multi-night stays)
• Barbecue cost: ₩20,000 for 2 people / ₩5,000 per extra person (up to 6)

Check-in area and how the stay works

The check-in area was really pretty right as we walked in :) The sunlight was pouring in and the weather was so nice that day, it felt like a real vacation the moment we arrived!!

The owner was kind and helpful from the moment I first booked, which already put me in a good mood before we even got there — and when we actually checked in, the owner walked us through everything we needed to know about the stay, one by one!

Barbecue runs from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM and seating is first-come, first-served, so keep that in mind!

Extra amenities you can request

Next to the front desk there were extra supplies ready to go — towels, dog puppy pads, disposable toothbrushes, and more, all free to grab if you need them!

What the spa room at Luna Beach Seonjae is like

After checking in we headed up to our room! I booked the spa room this time, and the first thing that caught my eye was how spacious it was! And best of all, the sunlight streamed in so the whole room felt bright and warm.

Kitchen in the spa room

The kitchen was tidy too! Inside were basic dishes like spoons, chopsticks, and plates, along with basic cookware, so you don't really need to bring much of your own!

Bed and extra bedding

The bed was neatly made and just the right size for two people. Overall the room felt well maintained, making it a comfortable place to relax :)

There was extra bedding in the closet next to it. I didn't need it this time, but if you do, it's there for you!

The ocean-view spa tub

The spa was just the right size for two. Best of all, the sea was visible right next to it, so soaking in the spa while looking at the ocean really made it feel like a proper getaway, haha 😊 (Note: bath products aren't allowed in the spa, and dogs can't use it either!)

Bathroom

I checked out the bathroom too, and it was kept clean. The state of the bathroom really matters at a place like this, right? Everything was cleanly maintained overall, so I liked that part too :)

And looking out from the room, the pool came right into view! It looked bigger than expected, and I wanted to head down and play right away lol. So we quickly unpacked and went down to the first floor!

Once we got down there, the pool was even bigger than I'd thought!!! Great for adults to enjoy and also fine for kids to splash around. There were chairs and parasols set up next to the pool, perfect for relaxing with a beer or some snacks while enjoying the water.

Life jackets were also available around the pool if needed.

The separate dog pool

And for anyone visiting with a dog, this part will make you happy! There's a separate dog pool...!! 🐶 It was just the right size for a dog to play in, and the water was kept clean, making it a great spot for splashing around with your pup.

The artificial-grass run our dog loved most

My personal favorite space was this big lawn! It's laid with artificial grass over a wide area, making it a great spot for dogs to run around.

The turf was well maintained overall, and watching our dog run around happily made me feel glad we brought her along, haha. She loved it so much I felt really proud too 💛

Billiards room and karaoke room

On one side there was a space as big as a banquet hall!! Usable until 10:00 PM :)

There was also a karaoke machine — not the coin-operated kind, but a TJ karaoke machine with a mic, so you can just freely sing whenever you like lol. Great for a company retreat, group gathering, or a big family trip where everyone wants to hang out together!

Barbecue with shrimp and scallops from Ojido Seafood Market

When evening came, we headed down for the barbecue :) You only need to bring your own food down — tongs and disposables you need for grilling are all stocked at the first-floor convenience store!

Once night fell, the lights came on in the barbecue area and the mood shifted completely from daytime. Thanks to the lighting the atmosphere was great, and we could sit our dog right next to us and enjoy the barbecue comfortably 🐶💛

Before grilling, a grate and disposable table liner were already provided, so you can just use them. If you need extras, the grill grate is ₩3,000 and charcoal is ₩5,000, but they gave us plenty of charcoal so the basic amount was more than enough!

On-site shop for snacks and supplies

There was also a small store on the first floor! If you're short on anything, you could buy simple snacks like chips, ramyeon, or ssamjang (dipping sauce), along with anything else you need :) The bottom shelf also had dishes you could use for the barbecue! (Just make sure to wash any dishes you use and toss trash in the recycling area behind the front desk.)

Eating good food with the pretty barbecue atmosphere, all together with our dog, was pure happiness.. 🥹❤️ We bought shrimp and scallops at Ojido Seafood Market to grill, and also had raw shrimp sashimi with them — it was seriously delicious... I'd really recommend stopping by Ojido Seafood Market to pick up food for the barbecue, haha!!

And we even caught a romantic fireworks show on top of it all 🎆🎇

After a happy day, we checked out in the morning :) The pretty sky at dawn..🩵

Overall verdict on Luna Beach Seonjae

Luna Beach Seonjae Hotel was spacious and kept impeccably clean overall, making it easy to relax during our stay :) What stuck with me most was how kind the owner was from booking all the way through check-in, and the fact that our dog could run freely on the wide artificial-grass lawn plus use her own separate dog pool made it a great trip for traveling with a pet 🐶💛

In the spa room you can soak in the spa while looking out at the sea, and with the pool, seminar room, and barbecue area all on offer, it's also a solid place to visit with family or friends. A Seonjae-do trip where we really got to see beautiful skies and sunsets 💛🩵
