Pocheon campground B10 valley site vs Starlight Zone: Byeolbit Camping

This cool weather lately,, it's absolutely camping weather!! I went to Byeolbit Camping Site, where you can dip your feet in the creek during the day and heal properly under the stars at night~

Honestly I went with a discount,, but this is a camping ground I'd genuinely want to pay full price to visit again with family or friends.

A camping ground near Seoul reachable in about an hour, car camping possible, creek camping in Pocheon — here's my review of Byeolbit Camping Site, let's go~!!!

Where is Byeolbit Camping Site in Pocheon, and how do you get there?

Byeolbit Camping Site is an auto-camping ground at 307-2 Damteo-gil, Gwanin-myeon, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, right next to Damteo Valley. It's reachable in about an hour from Seoul, so accessibility is great too.

Following the navigation, you turn left near what looks like a dump site and cross over — that's the right way in! The entrance road isn't difficult at all~!

What is site B10 at Byeolbit Camping Site like?

We used the B10 site at Byeolbit Camping Site. I was torn between this and the Byeolbit Zone, more on that below! We got recycling bags plus the standard trash bags and went straight to pitch.

A clean site. The B sites all seem to be the same size. There are steps down to the creek near B1 and B12. Overall this campground is very well maintained!

Our home for the day 🏕️ Watching the kids playing in the creek, even we adults as grown-ups wanted to hurry down there!! Pitching done fast 👍🏻

++Electricity worked without a single interruption. In two years of camping fairly seriously, I've been to a few places where the power capacity or voltage was low and it cut out now and then, but no such worries here.

Playing in the water at Damteo Valley: why it works with kids

The moment we finished pitching, we went down to Damteo Valley right below Byeolbit Camping Site! Can you see how clear the water is?!? There are tons of fish too, from tiny ones to fish the size of your palm!

The creek has both deep and shallow spots scattered around, which is perfect for kids to play in.

He caught fish and became a popular guy 🤴🏻 with the kids nearby! Damteo Valley is famous for its clear water, isn't it! Kids play in the clean water and get close to nature, while adults can heal listening to the sound of the stream. 🏕️ I think it's a great campground for camping with kids too!!

Shared some of the caught fish and had sashimi right after 🐟 There were a lot of people like us quietly enjoying camping while watching baseball. Lots of families with kids there but is it noisy?! No!!! Since the creek is right below, parents could keep an eye on their kids, and from around B9 onward where I was, most people were quiet.

Are the sinks, restrooms and showers clean?

At Byeolbit Camping Site, facing the store, the left side has the women's restroom and shower, and the right side has the sink area plus men's restroom and shower. Everything is kept clean!

The sink area had good hot water and water pressure. There's also a microwave and electric kettle, great for warming up easy meals!

The recycling area was also always kept tidy. I saw when taking out trash in the morning that the owner cleans it up right away before it overflows — you can tell they take maintenance seriously.

The restrooms were well ventilated and never felt damp. There were 3 stalls, and they stayed clean throughout the busy weekend.

Even though many people use this campground shower every day, there was no scale under the mirror or glass shelf, zero humidity, and the floor was spotless too. I'm someone who's used to needing a private bathroom… but this made me feel like I didn't need one. For a campground, I can guarantee this level of cleanliness is exceptional!!

What can you buy at the Byeolbit Camping Site store?

The store at Byeolbit Camping Site sells all the camping essentials — charcoal, iso gas, butane gas — and even aurora powder, so you can do a campfire glow-effect!

Check the price list — towels, disposable shampoo and conditioner too! Even if you forget something, they've got you covered. You can also rent freshwater snail collecting nets and tubes, so you can really enjoy the water.

Why the campground is called Byeolbit (starlight) Camping Site

Even though we went on a cloudy day, the stars just poured down. 🌌 I'd never seen so many stars ㅠㅠ! As soon as evening came, all we did was stare at the night sky..🥹🤍

Byeolbit Camping Site in Pocheon on a clear day. Surrounded by mountains, healing wherever you look 🍃 I think it would be even more beautiful during the fall foliage season.

Starlight Zone vs the creekside B sites: which is the better pitch?

The Byeolbit Zone at Byeolbit Camping Site is located near the entrance. It sits higher up than the creekside sites, but the site sizes are bigger there, so if you have a large tent, I'd recommend the Byeolbit Zone. ✨

It's not far from the creek, so it's a great pick for those who want to play in the water and then rest quietly. It'll depend on who's using each site, but it's a quieter, more private spot — next time I'd love to try the "Byeolbit Zone" haha!!

Damteo Valley platform decks: enjoy the creek without a tent

At Byeolbit Camping Site by Damteo Valley in Pocheon, you can enjoy a half-day picnic, not just full camping. Renting the Damteo Valley platform benches is also possible, so even without a tent you can genuinely recommend Byeolbit Camping Site in Pocheon to get a taste of camping!

I think it's a clean, well-atmosphered campground where even camping beginners could get more excited about camping. 🩵 Honestly a place I want to go back to 🥹👍🏻🩵
