Suwon café with Hwaseong Fortress views: Caffeine Focus
In short
Caffeine Focus is a bakery café in Suwon, Gyeonggi, with views of the Hwaseong Fortress walls from every floor. I had iced Americanos, vanilla bean Basque cheesecake, and a vegan banana muffin, then took ciabatta home. Verdict: Caffeine Focus has great coffee, baked goods, views, and easy parking.

I went to meet a friend who lives in Suji and somehow ended up all the way in Suwon. Then I found Caffeine Focus, a newly opened café with fortress-wall views! I went for the gorgeous view, but the coffee was a work of art! >_< Hahahaha
Caffeine Focus parking and Hwaseong Fortress wall views
I parked in the resident-priority parking area outside the fortress wall in front of the café, then headed straight into Caffeine Focus!
We arrived around 2:30 p.m. on a weekday, and there were plenty of parking spots, so parking was easy. Caffeine Focus has floors 1 through 3, and you can see the lovely Hwaseong Fortress walls from every floor.^^
Caffeine Focus menu and prices

First, we went upstairs to save a seat with a great view, then came back down to order.

Whole-wheat carrot pound cake was ₩4,000, vanilla bean Basque cheesecake ₩8,000, egg scones ₩4,500, and banana muffins ₩3,800. There were cakes and desserts that all looked delicious, too.

Chocolate fig ciabatta was ₩6,800, plain ciabatta ₩4,800, olive cheese ciabatta ₩5,300, and squid ink cheese ciabatta ₩5,300. They also had naturally leavened ciabatta made with sourdough that is cold-fermented for more than 12 hours~ Wednesdays were originally bread-free days, so there was no ciabatta, but so many people were disappointed that they now have ciabatta on Wednesdays, too!

The storage instructions and story for this ciabatta, which would be so good as a meal bread, were presented so nicely, too. :)

They also had a cardamom granola Greek yogurt bowl, and I heard they make all of their baked goods and desserts themselves. You can buy the cardamom granola separately, too~ Write a Naver receipt review and you get 50g of handmade cardamom granola, so definitely give it a try!^^
They also had a sourdough ciabatta sandwich with basil pesto, fresh tomato, arugula, jambon, and mozzarella, so it would be great for brunch—or as a proper meal if you are staying at the café for a while~

Americanos were ₩5,500 and café lattes ₩6,000, which does not seem expensive for a café near a famous tourist attraction.
Americano and vanilla bean cheesecake

We ordered two iced Americanos, vanilla bean Basque cheesecake, and a banana muffin.

My friend took one sip of the Americano and was completely impressed! Hahahaha My friend does not usually like acidic coffee, but said this one was nutty with just the right amount of acidity, making it much tastier than a typical Americano. They use specialty blend beans from Accept Coffee, and after tasting it, I could really tell it was good coffee.^^ Hahahaha

The Basque cheesecake, made with a whole vanilla bean, had a deep, rich aroma. It was soft, clean-tasting, and sweet, and it disappeared in no time with the coffee lol. We ate it so quickly that there are no more photos lololol. That is how good it was~^^

The vegan banana muffin was crisp outside and moist inside, and even tastier because it was so satisfyingly full inside~
Fortress wall views from the second floor, third floor, and terrace
This was our seat on the second floor. The second-floor view was already so good, but the third floor was even better~ Hahahaha
It seemed like such a nice place to sit across from a friend and chat while looking out at the fortress walls. :)
There was a terrace on the other side, and now that the breeze is cooler, it seemed like it would be nice to sit out there, too.^^

I also packed up some ciabatta on the way home~ Hahahaha The coffee was delicious, the bread was delicious, the cake was delicious, the view was lovely, the owners were kind, and parking was easy at Caffeine Focus! I have to come back next time! Saved!!!
