Grilled beef short rib and clam with cheese in Guwol, Incheon

In short

Euljiro Charcoal Grill Guwol Branch is a charcoal-grilled meat and seafood restaurant on Guwol Rodeo Street in Namdong, Incheon. The writer ordered raw beef short rib (2 servings) for ₩17,800, seasoned beef flap meat (2 servings) for ₩18,800, and cheese grilled fan mussel for ₩9,900, plus doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and haejang ramyeon (hangover noodle soup). The smoky charcoal flavor on the short rib and the sweet marinade on the flap meat were the standouts, and with 2 hours of free basement parking and plenty of group seating, it's a solid pick for gatherings in Guwol-dong.

I couldn't believe a place like this existed on Guwol Rodeo Street! It's a charcoal grill specialist, but the menu covers pork and beef along with seafood too. On top of that, there's 2 hours of free basement parking and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible.

You'll find this restaurant if you head from the center of the Guwol Rodeo Street plaza toward the Gwollidan-gil café alley. It's an easy walk from either Incheon Terminal Station or Yesulhoegwan Station, and the 2-hour parking support is a nice bonus.

A spacious interior with retro vibes

Inside this Guwol-dong restaurant, the space was surprisingly huge. The dining area stretched on and on, with plenty of tables — great for drinks, dates, or group gatherings and company dinners alike. The retro interior gave it a distinctive atmosphere too.

Self-serve bar for side dishes

A tidy self-serve bar

All the side dishes could be scooped up as needed from the self-serve bar. The seasoned bean sprouts and kimchi were tasty enough to enjoy as an appetizer before the grilling even started, and I refilled generously to go with the meat.

Just how big is the menu?

Ordering was simple through the table-order tablet at each seat, and I was shocked by how huge the menu was. Beef short rib, flap meat (plain and seasoned), beef brisket, pork belly, pork neck, pork jowl, skirt meat, back meat, pork intestine, gochujang pork belly, pork rib, pork skin, plus scallop, abalone, sea squirt, grilled fan mussel, grilled mackerel, and grilled prawns. Even the meal menu was massive and surprisingly good value.

Beef short rib grilled over charcoal

Beef short rib seems to be something I always end up ordering at any Korean BBQ spot. The charcoal heat here is strong enough that the meat cooks fast, so you need to add it to the grill in manageable batches to keep the pace right.

The side dishes that came with it were great too. The short rib was cut into thick pieces, giving it a chewier texture and plenty of juiciness. One golden-grilled bite and you could really taste the smoky charcoal flavor layered into the rich savoriness — a true Guwol-dong restaurant experience. The onion soy sauce had gochugaru (chili flakes) mixed in, and wrapped with lettuce and perilla leaves, the short rib practically melted in my mouth.

Seasoned flap meat grilling over charcoal

Sweet seasoned flap meat

I've had plain flap meat plenty of times before, but I was curious about the seasoned version, so I ordered it. Since it's marinated, you have to flip it more often to keep it from burning. The natural meaty flavor of the flap meat combined with the charcoal aroma made for a real treat — a flavor you simply can't get at home. It's sweet enough that kids would probably love it too, haha.

Grilled fan mussel alongside the meat

I thought this was purely a meat-grilling place, but Euljiro Charcoal Grill also had fan mussel, prawns, and a whole range of seafood, which made it even better. In winter, they even have grilled oysters apparently. Enjoying dishes I'd normally have at a seaside restaurant, right in the middle of Guwol-dong alongside beef, felt refreshingly unique. Perfect drinking food too, haha.

Doenjang jjigae packed with ingredients

Cool and spicy doenjang jjigae

After all that salty grilled meat, I craved something soupy, so I ordered this. It's cheap, so it's not a burden to add, and the portion was generous — great value as a side dish. It was packed with ingredients too, so there was plenty to fish out and enjoy.

Haejang ramyeon ordered to finish the meal

Wrapping up with haejang ramyeon

The seafood kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) looked really popular too, but I kept it simple and finished with the haejang ramyeon, which can be ordered as a single serving. They also have jjapaguri, buldak bokkeum myeon, and naengmyeon for ₩4,900 — all great value, making this a Guwol-dong restaurant with a really generous spread overall.

A good spot for gatherings and company dinners in Guwol-dong

Pork, beef, seafood, shellfish, prawns — all in one place. It's great to have such a wide range of choices when dining with a group. And with prices this reasonable, this seems like a restaurant that anyone looking for a gathering or dinner spot in Guwol-dong would leave satisfied with.
