Euljiro Charcoal Grill Guwol Branch is a charcoal grill restaurant near Rodeo Street in Guwol-dong, Namdong, Incheon, serving beef, pork and shellfish together. The writer grilled 100g portions each of seasoned beef flap steak, pork jowl and garlic skirt steak, then added a pen shell clam grill and seafood kalguksu noodles. Today I'm introducing Euljiro Charcoal Grill, located near Rodeo Street in Guwol-dong, Incheon. As a recommended spot in Guwol-dong, this place lets you enjoy fresh beef, pork, and seafood all in one place, and I loved that the meat was flavorful and good quality at an affordable price. Here's my honest review of eating my heart out at this meat, seafood, and drinking-food favorite, Euljiro Charcoal Grill.

The way there from Guwol-dong Rodeo Street

Walk a little from Guwol-dong Rodeo Street toward Gwolli-dan-gil and you'll see it right away. Euljiro Charcoal Grill, a Guwol-dong favorite, has a retro vibe from the exterior on.

I think the biggest appeal of Euljiro Charcoal Grill is that you can enjoy both meat and seafood, which I love, at the same time.

It's been a while since I had nostalgic charcoal grilling too. Walking in with high expectations.

The atmosphere and seating

The interior was bigger than I expected, with several square and round tables, so it can seat large groups.

It has a pojangmacha (street tent bar) feel — the perfect mood for a drink.

100g per serving, one cut at a time

The menu has a wide variety of pork and beef cuts, each served in 100g portions, and you can order several different types by the single portion, which I liked because it lets you taste a range of cuts.

There's also fresh seafood like scallops, pen shell clams, and a plate of abalone — a rare thing to find simple shellfish grills at a meat restaurant. Since it's prime prawn season right now, the grilled king prawns looked tempting too :)

✔️ What we ordered: seasoned beef flap steak + pork jowl + garlic skirt steak + seafood kalguksu (noodle soup) + pen shell clam grill

The basic side dishes arrived. You can refill them yourself at the self-serve bar.

They serve pickled onion, lettuce-perilla leaf salad, and radish salad that go well with meat, but the interesting part was that the radish salad is meant to be eaten frozen.

With the arrival of our adorable trio of meats, tonight's table was fully loaded.

Three plates of seasoned beef flap steak, pork jowl, and garlic skirt steak

Seasoned beef flap steak, pork jowl, garlic skirt steak. I asked my friend what she wanted to eat first, but somehow ended up choosing all my own favorites haha 😆

How does the seasoned beef flap steak taste?

The beef flap steak was a vivid red that screamed freshness, topped with a slightly sweet yakiniku-style sauce.

I prefer slowly grilling just as much as I can eat rather than grilling a whole tray at once, savoring each piece with a drink — this place matches that pace perfectly.

A piece of beef flap steak grilled to just the right amount

Not overly sweet, just a subtle sweetness, with beef flap steak packed full of juice.

Paired with the refreshing radish salad, the salty lettuce-perilla leaf salad, and the savory soy-onion sauce, it tasted twice as good.

Pork jowl and that charcoal smoke aroma

Next up, the nutty, chewy pork jowl.

Pork jowl cooking on the charcoal grill

Great value for the price, a wide range of menu options, and clearly fresh-looking meat — everything about this Guwol-dong favorite, Euljiro Charcoal Grill, was satisfying.

Cooked meat pushed to the side of the grill

Since the charcoal fire is only in the center, once a piece is cooked you can push it to the side, so you keep eating everything warm.

When I went to the self-serve bar to refill the onion-soy sauce, I spotted myeoljeot (salted fermented anchovy sauce) 👀 I love dipping meat in myeoljeot, so it was a pleasant surprise — I added chili and garlic to it too. The myeoljeot combo is the best.

What more is there to say about pork jowl? The more you chew, the nuttier it gets, with a texture that clings to your mouth, plus the charcoal's smoky aroma on top — it couldn't have been anything but delicious.

Garlic skirt steak, worth ordering again

Lastly, the sweet and chewy garlic skirt steak.

All three meats I had here were so good. At first the portions looked cute and small, but being able to order exactly the amount or menu item you want made it perfect as drinking food.

Skirt steak grilled with well-blended seasoning

The pleasant sweet aroma that comes out while grilling, combined so well with the tasty seasoning, that the garlic skirt steak is definitely something I'd order again on a return visit.

Soju glasses and bottles beside the grilled meat

I meant to just have a light drink, but one piece led to one more glass, and before I knew it the bottles were piling up haha — the food was so good that I didn't even get drunk 🤣

Pen shell clam grill at a meat restaurant

That's it for the meat — since I wanted seafood too, I ordered the pen shell clam grill.

It pairs well with meat too, and the spicy-sweet seasoning was a real treat.

Seafood lovers will go crazy for this. Eating a pen shell clam grill, something you'd normally only taste by the sea, here in Guwol-dong felt like a little getaway.

Finishing up with seafood kalguksu

To finish, I even got a hangover cure with seafood kalguksu (noodle soup) 👀 Generously topped with dried seaweed flakes, packed with clams and other seafood, chewy noodles, and a refreshing broth — a satisfying meal.

That wraps up my honest review of Euljiro Charcoal Grill, a Guwol-dong favorite where you can enjoy fresh meat, flavorful seasonings, and fresh seafood all together. It was a delicious meal ^^
