While looking for a nice-atmosphere Italian restaurant in Yeouido, I ended up at Cuisine R this time. I booked ahead on Catch Table and arrived around 12:30pm on a Saturday. The antique interior, with green plants, flowers, and wine bottles all mixed together, made it a great place to enjoy the mood along with the meal.

While we were debating what to order, the owner mentioned that a lot of guests order the salad alongside their main. So we went with the Best Collection Set for two.

The Best Collection Set for two costs ₩82,000 and lets you choose from bread, salad, pasta, risotto, and a drink. We were told you could swap the two pastas for pizza at no extra charge. What we ordered this time was caprese salad, ragu bolognese pasta, gorgonzola cream pasta, grapefruit ade, and green tangerine ade.

First came the bread and the caprese salad. The bread was light and perfect before diving into the mains — freshly warmed bread with balsamic sauce was a nice way to open up the appetite.

The second pasta we tried was the gorgonzola cream pasta. This one comes with 1++ grade hanwoo (Korean beef) and gorgonzola cheese. The distinct funk of gorgonzola paired with the deep flavor of the hanwoo made for a savory, umami-rich cream pasta.

The cream sauce blended smoothly, and the gorgonzola aroma came through gently — I really enjoyed it, and honestly, this was the dish I'd recommend most from what we tried. The two pastas went in different flavor directions, which made ordering the set for two and sharing a great choice.

Grapefruit ade and green tangerine ade

We ordered drinks to go with the pasta. We chose grapefruit ade and green tangerine ade — the green tangerine ade wasn't on the menu board, but we could order it after the owner explained it. It was both tangy and sweet, and it felt like it cleared the palate nicely alongside the rich pasta sauces.
