I was craving good meat today, so I took a drive out to Yeongdeungpo for dinner. With the weather pleasantly cool and wanting a change of pace, I finally visited Yangnam Yanghwa, a Yeongdeungpo all-you-can-eat lamb restaurant that people around me had been raving about for its lamb ribs and lamb T-bone.
Yangnam Yanghwa is famous for letting you enjoy soft lamb ribs and lamb T-bone with no gamey smell, all-you-can-eat, so it's known as a spot that nails both value and taste. It's already a well-known name among meat lovers, so I walked in with high expectations.

Where is Yangnam Yanghwa, and what are the hours?
Yangnam Yanghwa is at 6-2 Yeongdeungpo-ro 18-gil, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, and it's open daily from 12:00 to 24:00. Even though it hasn't been open long, it's already gained a reputation as a great-value spot with good atmosphere and all-you-can-eat lamb ribs and lamb T-bone!

Since it opens at 12, we went during lunchtime haha.

Seating and booking a table at Yangnam Yanghwa
At Yangnam Yanghwa, staff are stationed in the middle with tables ringing around them, so there aren't that many tables. When we arrived a lot of people were already eating, but since we had a reservation we were seated right away.

The 5 sauces and side dishes
Five sauces are laid out on the table at Yangnam Yanghwa. From left: mint jelly, wasabi, ranch sauce, cumin salt (jjeuran), and plain salt. Once we sat down, everything was already set up since we'd reserved. My favorite sauce, mint jelly!!!! I was so happy. I'm the type who believes lamb ribs need mint jelly, haha.

There were two side dishes: pickled gungchae (aster stem) and ssammu (pickled radish). Both were great for cutting through the richness. The pickled gungchae especially was so tasty!

How to get the free highball
Yangnam Yanghwa was also running various events. Make sure you join in and get the freebie! A free highball, that's amazing haha.

Before eating I went to wash my hands, and the restroom was really clean and tidy. Going out to eat and finding a dirty restroom always leaves a bad feeling, but here it was so clean I was happy.

The menu, the order and the pre-meal drink
Yangnam Yanghwa's menu is a single all-you-can-eat menu plus side dishes and drinks. We ordered for two adults.

After ordering, the staff brought us a pre-meal drink. It was a low-alcohol drink with a lemon scent, good for waking up the appetite before the meal.

Staff grill the lamb from start to finish
At Yangnam Yanghwa, they set charcoal and a grill plate right in front of us like this, and staff grill everything from beginning to end. The refill meat gets grilled by them too.

First round! I remember the top piece being lamb T-bone and the bottom one lamb shoulder rib. The color of the meat looked really good. The quality seemed excellent haha. The staff grilled it so kindly and deliciously.

The meat cooking beautifully! The staff are so skilled at grilling. It didn't burn at all and got a nice golden Maillard reaction while cooking haha.

Once cooked, the staff plate the meat in front of you. They kindly explain which cut it is, how well done it is, and so on. The ratio of lean meat to fat looked just about perfect haha.

Is the lamb gamey?
Dipping the cooked meat in the cumin salt (jjeuran) and taking a bite—so delicious. The distinctive lamb aroma came through pleasantly and there was no trace of what I'd call a gamey smell. With so many sauces, it was also fun to try different dips.

Finishing with bibim-guksu (spicy mixed noodles)
And the bibim-guksu (spicy mixed noodles) we ordered! We got it toward the end of the meal. Since the meat got a bit rich, we wanted to cut through it with bibim-guksu.

The bibim-guksu tasted like the familiar flavor we all know. But you know how a familiar flavor can be dangerously good, right?! Wrapping meat in it was tasty too.
Is Yangnam Yanghwa's all-you-can-eat lamb worth it?
Yangnam Yanghwa, an all-you-can-eat lamb restaurant in Yeongdeungpo, was by far the most satisfying Yeongdeungpo bbq place I've been to recently. The meat quality was so good that we really got to eat our fill of lamb ribs and lamb T-bone, and it was juicy with no gamey smell down to the last bite haha.
The golden-grilled lamb T-bone in particular was just the best!!! Whenever we're craving delicious lamb, I think we'll definitely be back.
