Yeouido corkage-free wine bar, alcohol-free date: Wine Joomak Chacha
In short
Wine Joomak Chacha Yeouido Station Branch is a corkage-free wine bar on the second floor of the Estrenue Building, one minute from Yeouido Station on Line 9 in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. A couple who could not drink during fertility treatment had a dinner date over chicken doenjang cream risotto (22,000 won) and pork tenderloin steak & gnocchi (33,000 won), and Wine Joomak Chacha's non-alcoholic drinks made the evening work without a drop of alcohol. A good pick for wine beginners, or for anyone pairing modern Korean dishes with a companion who is not drinking.

What is the atmosphere like inside Wine Joomak Chacha?
The interior of Wine Joomak Chacha Yeouido Station Branch has such a great vibe thanks to the softly dimmed lighting! It felt suitable for anything — office worker gatherings nearby, family dinners, dates, or even blind dates.

Menu and prices: about 100 wines and modern Korean dishes
Wine Joomak Chacha Yeouido Station Branch has around 100 kinds of wine so even beginners can easily pick one, and they're reasonably priced! Looking through the menu, I saw a lot of fusion Korean dishes and wondered — would these really pair well with wine? But oh my, it was so delicious and harmonious 🧡

Cheese kimchi jeon (kimchi pancake), cha-yuk-ssam (wraps), gambas, rose tteokbokki with beef brisket, Hanwoo 1+ carpaccio with cold vegetables, truffle beef brisket jjajangmyeon, mixed cheese and fruit platter, fresh mozzarella and mushroom pesto, chacha beef jeon, beef brisket risotto, beef brisket doenjang hot pot, chacha clear chicken hot pot, mixed ham and cheese platter, and jamón and mixed ham platter — plus a great lineup for Yeouido lunch, like the daily-limited pork belly boiled meat set, spicy stir-fried pork rice bowl set, and Hanwoo 1+ raw beef bibimbap. So many modern Korean dishes to choose from :)
The 12-wine ladder game for wine beginners
Even a beginner like me, who finds wine intimidating, can easily pick a wine that suits my taste through Wine Joomak Chacha Yeouido Station Branch's 12-wine ladder game — you just answer a few simple questions. Isn't that such a clever idea haha! They also give you one free glass of wine during lunch hours, so if you're visiting for a good Yeouido lunch spot, you should definitely stop by!!

Side dishes and wine snacks: baek kimchi, dried radish, walnut cream cheese
The side dishes were sweet and tangy baek kimchi (white kimchi) and crunchy, salty-sweet-spicy dried radish kimchi, which tasted homemade — like a mother's hand-made cooking!

And the combo of crackers with walnut cream cheese that comes when you order wine — seriously, ㅠㅠ it was so good I could've eaten it endlessly! The sweet cream cheese with crunchy nuts made me feel like I could drink wine like it was water.

Can you enjoy Wine Joomak Chacha without alcohol? Non-alcoholic options
At Wine Joomak Chacha Yeouido Station Branch, we unfortunately couldn't order any wine since we're going through fertility treatment right now, but I made a firm decision to bring a bottle of my favorite sweet wine next time for a date! It's a rare place that works hard to promote a free and comfortable wine culture, so it was a bit of a shame we couldn't have even a single drink through the whole dinner ㅠㅠ
(Turns out they actually have non-alcoholic and alcohol-free options too!! If you can't drink well, definitely try the non-alcoholic or alcohol-free menu!)

Chicken doenjang cream risotto, 22,000 won
The chicken doenjang cream risotto we ordered at Wine Joomak Chacha Yeouido Station Branch was ₩22,000. It's risotto flavored with a doenjang (fermented soybean paste) cream sauce, topped with tender aged chicken tenderloin and fragrant wild chives — I was really curious how this fusion Korean dish would taste!

The salty flavor and aroma of the doenjang cream weren't overpowering, and it paired better than expected with the thick, creamy risotto! The chicken tenderloin was entirely boneless, making it easy and soft to chew.
The chicken tenderloin, browned crispy on the outside and tender inside — such a lovely sight 🧡 No extra sauce needed, just dipping it into the doenjang cream was more than enough 👍🏼
Adding a bit of the dried radish kimchi and baek kimchi on top gave it a feel almost like eating rice soaked in doenjang soup!! Since the risotto wasn't too thick and had a bit of moisture, I think it would suit Korean palates really well :)
Pork tenderloin steak & gnocchi, 33,000 won
The pork tenderloin steak & gnocchi at Wine Joomak Chacha Yeouido Station Branch is ₩33,000. It's a gently grilled pork tenderloin steak served with potato gnocchi and a spicy gochujang romesco sauce.

Interestingly, both dishes we had for dinner at this Yeouido spot great for company dinners — Wine Joomak Chacha Yeouido Station Branch — were boneless, so it felt like a genuinely healthy meal haha. It wasn't nose-runningly spicy, but the moderately sweet-and-spicy gochujang romesco sauce made dipping into it feel like eating tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patties).

There was also nutty, soft cheese sprinkled on top, letting me really feel the charm of modern Korean cuisine reinterpreting familiar flavors in a new way!
And isn't the shape of the chewy, savory potato gnocchi just so cute? Haha. Paired with the pork tenderloin steak, the soft and chewy textures came together for a wonderfully unique combination.
