Decaf flat white and honey grapefruit tea at Uiwang outlet café: Jeong

In short

Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters Lotte Premium Outlet Uiwang Branch is a café on the 3rd floor of a glass-roofed building outside the main outlet in Uiwang, Gyeonggi. Sitting on the window-lined 1st and 2nd floors overlooking forest and lawn, the writer drank a decaf flat white for ₩6,500 and a honey grapefruit black tea for ₩6,500, and the nutty coffee flavor carried through even with decaf beans. Decaf swaps are free for pregnant customers, making it a great pick for coffee lovers.

With the skies so blue lately and the weather perfect for a picnic, I went out to browse the Uiwang Premium Outlet after a while, and today I'll introduce Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters, famous in the outlet for its great coffee.

Location and hours of Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters at Uiwang Premium Outlet

  • Address: 3rd floor, 1 Barasan-ro, Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea
  • Hours: Daily 10:30 AM–9:00 PM

How to get there from the Premium Outlet

Since the Uiwang Premium Outlet is so big, it can be hard to find — this café isn't in the main outlet building but in a separate glass-roofed building outside. It's fastest to look for it right after you exit the main building.

Parking

You can use the Uiwang Premium Outlet parking lot. Free parking is available on weekdays.

Inside the café — forest and lawn through the floor-to-ceiling windows

1st floor interior with large glass windows

The whole building is made of huge glass windows, so the garden outside the outlet is visible at a glance, and it was so pretty! It's especially beautiful in weather like this.

Outside is full of green lawn and trees, so the window-side tables really felt like sitting outdoors. With the sunlight streaming in, it looked even prettier.

And in a corner of the first floor, there were lots of Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters' own merchandise items on display. Thanks to the hip-feeling cups, pens, and clothes, it almost looked like interior decor.

What's the vibe like on the 2nd floor?

Customers seated on the café's 2nd floor

The inside is split between the 1st and 2nd floors, and the 2nd floor has a better atmosphere for chatting, so that's where the crowd gathered. Since this place is famous for great coffee, almost every seat was full even on a weekday.

The 2nd floor is also fully windowed, so it felt unusually open for an upstairs space. With the high ceilings and full glass walls, it looked even more spacious.

I like Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters and have visited several branches, and this Uiwang Premium Outlet location was definitely the prettiest.

What we ordered and dessert prices

We ordered a decaf flat white for ₩6,500 and a honey grapefruit black tea for ₩6,500.

Since it's fig season, besides the fig-loaded fresh cream cake, there were plenty of other desserts too — madeleine ₩7,000, Basque cheesecake ₩8,000, kiwi sando ₩7,000, honey rusk ₩4,000, and more, so it's a fun place to pick and choose.

How the decaf flat white (₩6,500) tastes

At Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters, I'd recommend ordering a coffee menu item whenever you can — it's definitely nuttier and has much better coffee flavor than other chain coffees.

An iced decaf flat white

It was surprising how, even iced, the flat white kept its nutty coffee flavor the whole way through. Usually the taste gets watery as the ice melts, but here that watering-down happened much more slowly.

Even though I switched to decaf beans instead of regular beans, the nutty, deep, bitter flavor was so full-bodied you wouldn't know it was decaf unless someone told you.

And one more thing — decaf swaps are free for pregnant customers, so don't worry, moms-to-be, go ahead and order :)

Two drinks on the table

Honey grapefruit black tea (₩6,500)

My husband can't drink coffee, so he ordered the honey grapefruit black tea. Honestly, I didn't expect much from this one, but you could really taste that black tea's slightly barley-tea-like character.

Sweetness takes the lead more than the grapefruit's tartness, so I'd recommend it to anyone who likes sweet drinks!

Wrapping up

Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters, a must-visit coffee spot at the Uiwang Premium Outlet. If you love coffee, this is one of those coffee shops you really have to check out — I visited this newly opened location at the Uiwang Premium Outlet, and with the full windows letting in sunlight and lush green forest views, it was a great place to enjoy delicious coffee. If you love coffee, be sure to visit :)
