The restaurant has a spacious dedicated parking lot, so we parked without any worry and walked straight inside 💓

There were four of us, and after debating what to get we decided on one 2-person set menu plus two different single-portion menus, all to share

The Boyang Set for Two came with domestic sea eel, flounder, Norwegian mackerel, and a fish stew all together 😍

Once we'd ordered for the four of us, the basic side dishes started arriving first. The warm napa cabbage soup and side dishes were all set out very neatly

Hwadeogeuro Gan Godeungeo Baegun Lake Branch also has a self-serve bar where you can grab more of any side dish you're running low on 😀 Beyond the basic sides they brought out first, there was even tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), which I love ❣️

There was also lettuce for wraps and acorn jelly, so I got to eat quite well 🙋🏻‍♀️

The rice comes as a rice pot by default, which made me extra happy since I love rice pot dishes 💕

The seasonal fish stew, generously packed with bracken fern and seasonal fish 🐟

And the spicy stir-fried pork that completely won me over — it tasted just as good as it looked ‼️

A variety of fish you can't grill at home

As a specialist in grilled fish set meals, Hwadeogeuro Gan Godeungeo Baegun Lake Branch was a great place to try many kinds of fish. Let's be honest — if you grill fish at home, the smell lingers for days, so it's not easy to enjoy grilling delicious fish even when you want to...???🥹

It was great to try a whole range of fish — from corvina to flounder, mackerel, and sea eel — and since everything is grilled over a wood fire, the fat drains out, making it taste cleaner and lighter. It's no secret my mouth was very happy ❣️

Mixing rice into the shallow broth of the seasonal fish stew is delicious too 💕

And scooping up a spoonful of warm rice pot rice topped with the light, clean fish is just so good 💕

With crowd-pleasing main dishes and a wide variety of side dishes to enjoy together, it was a family meal that made both our eyes and our mouths happy ‼️
