I was hunting for lunch near Dongtan Station and ended up at Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch! I love pho and had been curious about Mibundang for ages, so I finally made it happen. Spoiler: huge portions, great broth, and even the sides were on point..✨

Location and ordering system at Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch
Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch is on the outer row of shops on the first floor of Dongtan Station Richian Sangga. The unusual part: you order at a kiosk outside before you even walk in! There's a parasol and water set out for waiting customers too, which is such a nice touch when you're stuck outside in the heat 👍 Parking is supported too (1 hour).
We showed up near the tail end of lunch hour, so luckily there was no wait and we got seated right away. The place had that quiet, clean Mibundang vibe, and every seat is bar-table style. There were more seats than I expected — easily room for 10+ people. It also looked like a really comfortable spot for solo diners near Dongtan Station!

Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch is also running a Naver review event. FYI, the drinks you buy come in 500ml PET bottles, while the ones you get from the review event are 350ml cans haha! Good to know if you're planning on a drink.

The bar-table setup, complete with sauces and hair ties
Look up from your seat and you'll find the sauces meant to go with the pho already set out — hoisin sauce, chili sauce, and hot sauce! And on one side there are even hair ties 🥹 Long hair always gets a little annoying when you're eating pho with it down, so having this little detail covered is such a thoughtful touch.

Under the table there's a separate spot to stash your bag or belongings, and there are coat hooks on the wall too. I was worried bar-table seating might make it awkward to store your stuff, but they've really thought this through!

And if you look carefully under the table, there's also a little dish for sauce and spoons and chopsticks already set up. Pretty much everything you need is right at your seat, so we barely had to call a staff member the whole meal!

While waiting for our food, I found Mibundang's guide on how to eat the pho for the best flavor! Nothing better to do while waiting than read it thoroughly. ^^ Especially the part about mixing a sauce to dip your pho in — definitely try this. It comes back up again later..^^

What we ordered, plus the banchan
For banchan (side dishes), each person gets their own plate of jalapeños, pickled onions, and pickled radish, along with a small plate for portioning out your pho.
- Brisket pho ₩12,500
- Brisket-tendon pho ₩13,000
- Assorted fried platter ₩8,000
- Zero-sugar cola ₩2,500
That's what we ordered! Two of us, one pho each plus the fried platter — a proper feast haha.

Brisket pho
Finally, my brisket pho arrived! But wait. Why is there... so much of it...? I'd wondered why they gave us a side plate at first, but the moment I saw the pho, it all made sense. A big bowl packed to the brim with noodles, piled high with bean sprouts and meat — it looks properly filling from the very first glance. The broth is rich but never heavy or murky, with a subtle savory depth from the meat that keeps you coming back for spoonful after spoonful! The spice aroma isn't overpowering either, so even people who are sensitive to pho's signature scent should find it pretty approachable.

Brisket-tendon pho
And then the one my other half had been looking forward to — brisket-tendon pho! This one's portion is also massive••• A mountain of bean sprouts sits on top of the noodles, almost buried under a thick layer of meat. Scallions and chili on top make it look even better! The brisket is soft and nutty, the flank gets more savory and clean-tasting the more you chew, and the tendon adds a chewy texture that makes eating it genuinely fun. If you like a variety of meat textures, the brisket-tendon pho is the one to get.

Unlimited noodle and bean sprout refills — but how big are the base portions, really?
Seeing the two bowls side by side really drove the portion size home (seriously, so much). When we ordered, we were thinking, 'if it's not enough, we'll just refill the noodles~' Nope, not even close^^ Mibundang offers unlimited noodle and bean sprout refills if each person orders their own dish. Great news for big eaters, but for us the base portion alone was already more than plenty,,
Before digging in, we kept ladling the hot broth over the meat on top haha. Watching the meat slowly soak up the broth and cook through looks so appetizing. I wanted to dig in already but kept ladling it one more time anyway..
Now for the real business — mixing the noodles and bean sprouts underneath together properly. There's so much in the bowl that I'd recommend portioning it out onto your side plate as you eat!

One order of the assorted fried platter is all the side dish you need
Mibundang's assorted fried platter! It comes with 8 pieces total, so you get to try several different sides at once, which was such a nice touch. If eating just the pho feels a little lacking, add exactly one side — I recommend the assorted fried platter^~^

With a good variety packed in, there's no need to agonize over which side to order — you get to sample a bit of everything. Especially if there are two of you, definitely get the assorted fried platter! A crispy bite of fried food between mouthfuls of pho changes up the texture and pairs surprisingly well.

Portion some pho onto your side plate, wrap the noodles and bean sprouts in a piece of brisket, and take a bite! The nutty softness of the brisket, the crunchy bean sprouts, and the tender pho noodles all come together for a really great texture combo. Add in noodles that have soaked up the broth and every bite is deeply satisfying.

Mixing at a 4:1 hot sauce to hoisin ratio
And this next part is genuinely essential. Hot sauce to hoisin sauce, 4 to 1 — mix it up in Mibundang's recommended ratio and dip your pho in it. The heat from the hot sauce plus the sweet, savory depth of the hoisin makes for a completely different flavor than eating it plain!

Wedding shu mai
First up from the assorted fried platter, the wedding shu mai! The batter outside was genuinely super crispy, and the inside was chewy with a savory flavor a bit like fish cake. Crispy outside, tender inside, done right — great for popping one in between bites of pho.

Sweet potato cha gio
Next up, sweet potato cha gio (Vietnamese spring rolls)! A familiar flavor done well*^^*haha. Crispy on the outside with sweet, soft sweet potato inside — perfect as a dessert-like finish after a salty, hot bowl of pho (I wanted more.)

Scallop cha gio
And then the scallop cha gio! Definitely a familiar flavor I've had somewhere before, but if you asked me to describe exactly what it tastes like, I couldn't,,(?) A subtle seafood savoriness, crispy outside, tender inside — this one was tasty too.

After finishing the meal
We cleaned out both bowls down to just the broth,, After all that fuss about the portions being too much, we ended up finishing every bit... A staff member came by during the meal to ask if we needed more noodles, but she only asked our table.. Sadly, we politely declined the refill since the base portion alone had us completely full.

On the way out, stuffed full, there were even candies and mouthwash set out. It felt like they'd thought through exactly what a customer might need, step by step. Above all, the pho portions were genuinely generous, the broth was clean yet savory, and the meat was plentiful — very satisfying! The assorted fried platter was delicious too, so we left completely full and happy.

If you're looking for a great pho restaurant near Dongtan Station, or just a hearty lunch option in the area, I recommend Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch! Big eaters especially should order one dish per person and make full use of the noodle and bean sprout refills! A perfect meal, honestly..✨
