Nowon date-spot recommendation: Dangke Donkatsu near Taereung Ipgu Station

Today I'm sharing my visit to Dangke Donkatsu, a Nowon restaurant I'd recommend for a date. I ate my way through Tokyo rosu katsu, cold soba, curry, and fruit ade — a really generous spread!
Walking from Taereung Ipgu Station, and the mood inside

Dangke Donkatsu is walkable from Taereung Ipgu Station. It sits in the semi-basement level of a standalone building. The weather was lovely, and the whole place had this dreamy, restaurant-y vibe.

Inside, sunlight pours in, giving it a warm feel that's somewhere between a cozy home kitchen and a proper Japanese restaurant — you can really feel that Japanese sensibility.
What's on the menu and how kiosk ordering works

Ordering at Dangke Donkatsu happens at a kiosk set up outside the entrance.

The menu is roughly split into signatures, tonkatsu, curry, udon, seasonal specials, and drinks. We ordered the Tokyo rosu katsu, tenderloin tonkatsu, cold soba, mini curry, plus a lemon ade and a strawberry ade.
Everything we ordered, dish by dish

Cold soba, ₩8,000
This is the cold soba at Dangke Donkatsu. The first thing you notice is the nutty aroma of the sesame powder, and the portion is impressively generous.
Mixing in as much wasabi as you like brings out even more depth in the cold noodles.

Tenderloin tonkatsu, ₩13,000
Next up was the tenderloin tonkatsu — the pink-hued meat and crispy breading looked really appetizing.

It came with diced radish kimchi, pickled radish, and tonkatsu sauce, plus salt, wasabi, mustard, and lemon on the side to mix and match.
The tenderloin was tender through and through — crisp outside, juicy inside, with a nutty flavor that was really good.

Tokyo rosu katsu, ₩22,000
Then came the restaurant's signature dish, the Tokyo rosu katsu.
They pour the sauce over it right at the table — a sweet tonkatsu sauce loaded with onions, which gives it an especially distinctive flavor.

Once the sauce is on, it looks even more delicious.
There's also a cheese tonkatsu option, which is a fun way to switch things up — the cheese paired really well with the sauce.

Mini curry, ₩4,000
I also ordered the mini curry — I always feel tonkatsu, curry, and rice taste best eaten together, haha.

It's Japanese-style curry with meat, corn, and onion — perfect over rice.

Lemon ade and strawberry ade, ₩8,000 each
The ades we'd ordered rounded out the meal — strawberry and lemon ade gave everything a refreshing finish.

They even brought out plum tea as a final touch, so dessert was covered too at Dangke Donkatsu in Nowon.
