Hongdae gyoza restaurant recommendation Sangsu Hapjeong dumpling late-night snack

MANDOO BAR

MANDOO BAR's location, 1st-floor QR ordering, and 2nd-floor pickup
This time I visited a gyoza restaurant in Hongdae, MANDOO BAR~ It's located between Hapjeong and Sangsu stations, so accessibility was great too. Ordering can be done right away on the 1st floor with no waiting, just by scanning a QR code!
For food pickup or dining in, you just head straight up to the 2nd floor. The signage on the 1st floor was clear enough that it wasn't confusing at all~
Going up the stairs to the 2nd floor, you arrive right at the entrance. The usage instructions were also written out in detail. After entering, you can sit at any seat you like, and using self-service makes things easier and more comfortable, apparently. If the place is full, it says to ask about waiting and they'll guide you.
The 2nd floor atmosphere and the window view of Hongdae's streets
As soon as I went in, a place with great vibes appeared~ There were more seats than I expected, and the space was wider and more comfortable, so it seemed like a good spot to visit with a group.
Being on the 2nd floor, the window view was quite nice. I could relax and take in the view of the Hongdae streets.
I did takeout this time, but the atmosphere was so nice I want to dine in next time. It also seemed like a place foreign customers come to visit too~
The self-service items here are drinks, cups, water, etc. You just freely grab what you need from the fridge.
I basically did an opening run, so I took photos while there were no other customers. It felt like a hot spot that would get crowded with customers on weekends — a real Hongdae gyoza dumpling hotspot vibe~

Ordering the Mexican taco gyoza and ppuring gyoza
Ordering can be done easily via the QR code on the table, and a physical menu was also provided alongside it.

Scanning the QR code brings up the menu shown in the photo above~ The menu descriptions come with photos and detailed explanations, which made it easier to choose~ There's also a review event going on for the choco shell yogurt ice cream, so keep that in mind!
This time I ordered the Mexican taco gyoza with guacamole nacho chips. This dish comes with crispy gyoza, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cilantro, sour cream, and cheese sauce. You can choose whether to include cilantro, and the gyoza can be meat or kimchi (half-and-half is also possible), which made for an even more satisfying meal~

I was also curious about the pink shrimp gyoza, but apparently it's not available for pickup! So a bit disappointing, but I also chose the ppuring gyoza along with it~ This menu also lets you choose meat / kimchi / half-and-half for the gyoza flavor. It's the signature gyoza loaded with sweet-and-salty ppuring seasoning, so it looked even more delicious.

The physical menu and price range
After ordering, I also looked through the physical menu.

The usage instructions were kind and detailed, and the shop's character illustration was pretty cute too~

The prices weren't too high either, so it seemed like a great-value Hongdae restaurant to enjoy~

The owners were friendly too, which made it an even better place to visit.

They were also selling the cold jegyuk muk-sabal, a summer-only menu item.
The food came out soon after, so I picked it up and brought it home.

How it tasted, eaten at home after takeout
The packaging was neat, so it made it home safely.

Both portions looked quite generous, so it would be good to share as anju with a group too~
The first one I opened was the Mexican taco gyoza. When I opened the lid, an even more appetizing look appeared.
Next I opened the ppuring gyoza. Same as before, a delicious-looking dish appeared, generously sprinkled with ppuring seasoning.

With the guacamole and nacho chips included, it was quite a hearty dinner~ I also love guacamole and nacho chips, so my satisfaction was even higher. The pairing of crispy nachos with creamy guacamole was great too~
The Mexican taco gyoza had really generous toppings, including cilantro. It was a delicious gyoza that felt like pizza while also tasting like tacos.

I've always liked ppuring-flavored snacks, so I enjoyed the ppuring gyoza too. I imagine it would have an even crispier-outside, juicier-inside texture if eaten fresh out of the store. That's it for my review of MANDOO BAR, the gyoza restaurant on Hongdae's Red Road.
