Hapjeong cocktail bar with alcohol-free Shirley Temple: Gipeun Sup

In short

Gipeun Sup is a cocktail bar on the basement level of 27 Dokmak-ro in Mapo, Seoul, a short walk from Hapjeong Station. On a weekday evening second round, we ordered a Long Island Iced Tea plus a non-alcoholic lemon squash and Shirley Temple with grilled camembert cheese, and the QR menu at the table listed the alcohol percentage of every cocktail. Gipeun Sup is an easy choice for quiet conversation when someone in the group isn't drinking.

First photo from the visit to Gipeun Sup, a Hapjeong cocktail bar

On a weekday evening, after a great dinner with a friend, we weren't quite ready to say goodbye — so we decided to keep the night going with a casual second round somewhere with good vibes.

What kind of bar is Gipeun Sup near Hapjeong Station?

Gipeun Sup, which we visited as a sponsored guest this time, is a cozy Hapjeong cocktail bar near Hapjeong Station. The atmosphere hit us the moment we stepped through the door, and we ended up having a proper little healing session.

The first thing we noticed walking in was the soft, dim lighting paired with mellow Ghibli-style jazz playing in the background.

Unlike your typical loud, rowdy bar, the gentle jazz melodies here made it the perfect setting for a quiet, easy conversation.

Seating and atmosphere inside Gipeun Sup

The spacious room, reminiscent of a vintage European pub or a hidden live jazz bar, was filled with plush fabric sofa seats — I thought it would work just as well for a hangout with friends as for a date or a blind date.

The QR menu that lists each cocktail's alcohol percentage

Once seated, you can pull up the menu easily via the QR code on each table. The best part of the digital menu was that every single cocktail had its alcohol percentage kindly listed.

It made choosing a drink really easy, whether based on your usual tolerance or how you were feeling that day. There was also a nice variety of tasty non-alcoholic options for anyone who doesn't drink much, so everyone could pick something to their taste.

Long Island Iced Tea, non-alcoholic lemon squash and Shirley Temple

We started with the classic crowd-favorite Long Island Iced Tea, along with a refreshing non-alcoholic lemon squash and a sweet-tart non-alcoholic Shirley Temple.

We paired the drinks with grilled camembert cheese, which is a perfect match for cocktails.

Our drinks arrived first, and even the look of them felt cool and refreshing. The Long Island Iced Tea had just the right kick and cleansed the palate nicely, while the tangy lemon squash and the sweet, berry-scented Shirley Temple were both drinks my non-drinking friend could genuinely enjoy.

The grilled camembert cheese that followed was warm and gooey, topped with nuts and maple syrup for a perfect balance of nutty and sweet. Piled onto the crackers served alongside, it paired with the cocktails even better than I expected.

Restroom and other practical details

One thing I always check at a bar is the restroom, and here it was located neatly inside the venue, so we could use it safely and comfortably without having to step outside the building.

Is Gipeun Sup worth it for a second round in Hapjeong?

With its atmospheric Ghibli-style jazz, cozy sofas, and thoughtfully prepared cocktails with ABV clearly marked, Gipeun Sup was a satisfying Hapjeong bar all around.
