Yeouido tteokbokki restaurant with fried dumplings and eomuk
In short
Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is a tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) restaurant on basement level 2 of IFC Mall in Yeouido, Seoul. The writer ordered instant tteokbokki for two at ₩22,000 with Coolpis and bong-eomuk (fish cake skewers), enjoying the yaki-mandu (fried dumplings) inside two ways — crispy first, then soaked soft in the broth. A nostalgic, satisfying bowl that earned a promise to come back.

Today I want to introduce a tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) spot near Yeouido's The Hyundai Seoul! I really... I was craving instant tteokbokki so badly that I went looking, and it turned out to taste so nostalgic and delicious that I have to recommend it!!

How to get to Hyeonseonine in Yeouido

If it's your first time heading to Hyeonseonine in Yeouido, it can be really confusing! Honestly... I even ended up calling the store, total chaos... so confusing ㅜ

To get to Hyeonseonine in Yeouido, head to IFC Mall's basement level 2, walk out toward the subway entrance, and it's right next to the GS25 convenience store!!
20 years of history, starting from a street cart in 2004

It started as a street cart in 2004 and has carried on for 20 years, apparently becoming a symbol of Yongsan! They've now expanded to directly-run branches, but there doesn't seem to be much difference with Hyeonseonine Premium. Same delicious food, same friendly service, same philosophy of keeping things clean!
Inside the restaurant — a decent date spot?

The interior is on the small side, but there were a lot of tables!! If your girlfriend likes instant tteokbokki, I'd recommend it as a date spot haha
Kiosk ordering and the review event

You order at the kiosk, and they had a review event running for fried snacks and rice balls! Those rice balls looked so good ㅜㅜ
Menu board prices

They had both the basic version and the instant version, which I loved ㅜㅜ...
The self-serve bar setup

The self-serve bar has all the basics set up — soy sauce, salt, pickled radish, and more!
What we ordered

- Instant tteokbokki for 2: ₩22,000
- Coolpis: ₩1,500
Bong-eomuk (fish cake skewers)

We also had bong-eomuk and it was delicious!!! Can't skip the broth either haha
Instant tteokbokki — an apron is a must

Bubbling away ,,,, I honestly lost count of how many times I said 'this looks so good' just watching it ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ The sauce splatters a lot as it boils, so I really recommend wearing an apron :)

Yaki-mandu (fried dumplings), crispy then soft
There are yaki-mandu in there too!!!!!!!!! Soaked in the broth, that crispy-turned-soggy flavor, you know it ㅜ so good. We pulled them out one at a time — ate the first crispy, then let the rest soak until soft ㅋㅋㅋㅋ that way you get both flavors!

Jjolmyeon (chewy cold noodles) and cabbage
And there's jjolmyeon and cabbage too, which I love — the jjolmyeon really goes so well ㅜㅜ and the sweet cabbage is the perfect finishing touch!
Country of origin

Most of the ingredients were labeled as domestically sourced haha. That gave me even more trust in this place! I'm satisfied, so I think I'll be back.
