Isn't there always a place that comes to mind when you want to relax quietly in the middle of the city, or experience a bit of culture at the same time?
I stopped by Selected Nicks, a large café near Gangnam Station where a distinctive atmosphere and the pleasure of lingering coexist, and spent a leisurely time there 🤍

What kind of space is this large Gangnam Station café, Selected Nicks?
True to a large Gangnam Station café that weaves pop-ups, exhibitions, and other things to see throughout the space, it felt like the perfect place for all sorts of age groups to drop in and spend time together.

It looked genuinely useful whether you're on a fresh new date, working as a freelancer, or holding a small gathering or meeting — the space adapts to whatever purpose you need.

Walking in through the entrance, pretty dessert models were neatly displayed first, and just looking at them gave me a little thrill of excitement!

For tiramisu, you grab an empty box
The way you order here is a bit different from other places, which gave it a distinct charm.

It's a system where you load your desired desserts onto a tray yourself — for tiramisu, you take the empty box that matches the flavor you want, bring it to the counter, and pay for it together with your drinks.

Being a tiramisu specialty spot, the range of signature flavors was impressively varied, and since the new menu lineup changes periodically, it seems like you'd get something new every time you visit 🤤

Financiers, madeleines, and cookies were also well stocked, making them perfectly nice options to pack up as a thoughtful gift for someone special.

Even during the time slot we visited, people kept steadily coming in for desserts and drinks, but the staff were so friendly that I could wait calmly in line the whole time.

Chocolate banana tiramisu and vitamin beet — how did they taste?
The menu we picked that day was chocolate banana tiramisu, a refreshing iced americano, and a tangy vitamin beet drink.

The chocolate banana tiramisu had soft banana pieces tucked between layers of cake, and the texture spreading softly in the mouth was really impressive. The combination of sweet chocolate aroma and moist banana was so appealing that my spoon kept moving nonstop! The clean, nutty americano paired with the sweet dessert like a classic combo should, and it worked to reset my palate in between bites.

The vitamin beet, with its striking deep red color, caught my eye instantly — it had a fresh yet gently healthy tang, perfect for a mood boost 🤤

The 2nd floor gallery, 3rd floor rooftop, and the hidden room
After enjoying the drinks and dessert, I slowly wandered through the interior. The 2nd floor was set up as a gallery-style space where a different artist is chosen every month, so new works are always on display. Being able to sip coffee while looking at art pieces placed along the walls and around the tables felt like an emotional recharge.

They also operate an independent rentable room (Nicks Hidden Room) for private dates, meetings, board games, and more, which looked great for multi-purpose use! Heading up to the 3rd floor, a rooftop and stylish outdoor tables spread out with a full view of Gangnam's cityscape — it was really nice to breathe the open air while taking in the city view.
If you'd like to experience a variety of desserts alongside a stylish cultural space at the same time, it might be worth taking a leisurely break at Selected Nicks, this large café near Gangnam Station 🤍
