Today I want to introduce a galbi restaurant I visited to celebrate my mom's birthday. I'm not from Yangju, but I always noticed this huge galbi place whenever I passed by haha 🤭 Before going, I asked around and it turns out it's already famous among Yangju locals. My friends said they eat out there often too! Already smelling like a good find here… and thanks to Mom's birthday, I finally got to go.
I'm going to eat well and feel double the joy! The sign alone at Manpo Garden looked so grand — let's go on in!! Already looks delicious... slurp...
Parking and entrance at Manpo Garden: lots front and back
One of Manpo Garden's perks is the huge parking lot! There's parking both in front and behind the restaurant, so driving there is stress-free. These days, wherever you go, you worry about whether there's parking if you drive — but here, no need to worry at all.
Can a galbi restaurant entrance really look this good... A truly great galbi must, first, use consistently excellent meat; second, have seasoning that doesn't mask the meat's own flavor; and third, be touched by charcoal for that smoky aroma. Yes, exactly, exactly!
When you walk in, there's a corner where you can buy fresh meat! Good option for gift-giving too, with Chuseok (Korean thanksgiving) coming up soon.
Is Manpo Garden good with kids and for family gatherings?
Manpo Garden has baby chairs available too, so keep that in mind 𖤐 The interior is quite spacious, with tables for four and larger group seating.
One more thing I really liked: the space between the charcoal grill spots and chairs was wide, and the tables were big, so even with refills, nobody had to clear dishes off the table while we ate. Our family first ordered 3 servings of hanwoo-style pork galbi! (Boss, I'm so hungry 😭)
Yukhoe as a free side dish at Manpo Garden?
Manpo Garden's basic side dishes include 6 types of banchan, salad, seasoned lettuce, yukjeon (pan-fried beef), yukhoe, and pickled onions. Yukhoe served as standard, free of charge — boss, are you sure you're making any profit...? This place could be a yukhoe specialist restaurant on its own!!!

𖤐Event𖤐 Before visiting Manpo Garden, make sure to book through Naver Reservation! If you also set an alarm when reserving, you get a free doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) coupon. Tip: ask them to make the stew spicy before cooking starts. You'll polish off a whole bowl of rice before the main dish even arrives.

Once the galbi seemed fully cooked, I remembered the true highlight of Manpo Garden! A completely free Hamhung naengmyeon, one per person!! Seriously boss, are you making any money here. Ordered 3 right away!!
Ta-da!!!!!! The portion was bigger than I expected too. I thought, since it's free, it'd just be a tiny taste — I was such a fool... Anyone else out there who thought the same? If so, we were both way off base (bad joke, sorry).
Not trying the bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles) with seasoned galbi combo would be a serious crime. So, so delicious... ★
We were all so hungry, and my parents were eating so well, that we ordered one more serving — 4 servings total.
Dessert at Manpo Garden: ice cream on a puffed rice cake
Seriously, seriously certified Yangju must-visit... highly, highly recommend! A galbi restaurant where you can also get an iced Americano — thumbs up 👍🏻
Make sure to try the ice cream on top of the rice puff. It's like the greasiness just melts away. From the parking to the side dishes, the main course, and dessert — everything at Manpo Garden was delicious. They have a lunch special too, so I recommend giving it a try for a lunch gathering or get-together sometime 😊
