Yangju kids-zone bakery café with fig cream cake: Moonbird

The weather's turned cool and perfect for a drive or an outdoor outing! Too nice a day to stay home, right? So I went to Moonbird, a Yangju café I recommend, and had a lovely café time with delicious cake and coffee.

What kind of café is Moonbird in Yangju?

Moonbird is a large bakery café located in Goeup-dong, Yangju. I parked in Moonbird's own dedicated parking lot and headed for the entrance — and the exterior alone was gorgeous! I got a shot with the blue-green sky, the lush lawn, the fluffy clouds, and Moonbird's red brick building all in one frame, and it looked so stylish and pretty.

There are so many photo spots that photos come out beautifully, and I saw a lot of people taking pictures. I'd recommend this Yangju café for photos too.

The weather's been so nice lately that sitting on Moonbird's outdoor terrace, which overlooks the Yangju neighborhood, and having a coffee looked really appealing.

What does the name Moonbird mean?

This Yangju café I'm recommending, Moonbird, apparently got its name from the nickname 'Moonbird,' given to B95, a red knot sandpiper that spent its whole life migrating back and forth between the Earth and the moon. Even the name itself is beautiful — this large Yangju bakery café, Moonbird 🤍

Hall A and Hall B: Moonbird's kids zone and no-kids zone

The first reason I recommend Moonbird as a Yangju café is...

The space is divided into Hall A and Hall B. I loved that there's a kids-zone for families visiting with children, and a separate no-kids-zone where guests without kids can enjoy their coffee quietly. Moonbird satisfies the needs of both — guests who want to bring kids to a café, and guests who want a quiet cup of coffee.

Second, I recommend this as a Yangju café because the natural scenery visible through the huge floor-to-ceiling windows is just so pretty.

It's great that you don't have to travel far to enjoy scenery like this, right near Yangju. The tables are spacious, the chairs are comfortable, and no matter where you sit, you get a beautiful view of the outdoors through the windows.

Seasonal fig bakery items and the cake display at Moonbird

Moonbird, the café in Goeup-dong, Yangju that I as a local genuinely recommend, has a huge variety of delicious bread, as befits a large bakery café.

Moonbird especially has a lot of bakery items and cakes loaded with seasonal fruit. These days, they were selling breads and cakes packed with September's hot seasonal fruit — figs.

It's such a popular, hot large bakery café in Yangju that the breads sell out as soon as they're put out. I wanted to try every single kind — Moonbird really is a Yangju cake spot with delicious, varied bread.

You can also order seasonal fruit whole cakes like fresh mango cake or fig siru cake (steamed rice cake), so I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a great cake café in Yangju. 🎂

Moonbird's layout and table spacing: was it noisy?

While I waited for my order, I looked around Moonbird's interior a bit more. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are decorated so stylishly and beautifully that there's real fun in just wandering around the café. The space is very spacious with wide gaps between tables, making it great for chatting during a family outing, a friends' gathering, or a date.

As popular as this café is in Yangju, with lots of guests enjoying their coffee time, it wasn't noisy at all — and I was really satisfied with that.

Kids can also run around on the lawn, and there's even a photo printer where you can instantly print out photos taken at Moonbird — this Yangju café I recommend is a great way to spend a weekend.

How the fig cream cake and almond cream mocha tasted

I ordered the fig cream cake, an almond cream mocha coffee, and an affogato.

The fig cream cake was loaded with delicious in-season figs, and the balance between the soft cake sponge and the fresh cream was just right — not leaning too sweet, not too heavy — so it was really delicious.

The atmosphere is lovely, the café itself is pretty, and both the coffee and the dessert cakes are delicious — if I'm recommending Yangju cafés, I can't leave Moonbird off the list.

My household loves coffee — we're serious about coffee flavor and do quite a bit of café touring — and Moonbird's coffee is genuinely delicious. 👍🏻

Is Moonbird in Yangju worth a visit?
