Marinated rib restaurant in Jeju: Jeju Daepo Galbi Ido Branch

I visited Jeju Daepo Galbi Ido Branch (제주대포갈비 일도점) for marinated ribs in Jeju. I ordered two servings of yangnyeom galbi (marinated ribs), grilled them over a gas flame, and finished the meal with doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) and ice cream.

Where is it, and what is the parking like?

The restaurant is on the first floor at 31 Goma-ro, Jeju-si. It did not feel far from Jeju Airport and seemed fairly close to Dongmun Market, so I thought it was a decent stop for grilled meat during a trip.

Parking at nearby Jeju Dongbu Church is available only on weekdays and cannot be used on weekends. If you visit on a weekend, it would be best to look into nearby parking lots beforehand.

The hours listed in the original post are Tuesday through Sunday, 17:00–23:00, with last orders at 21:30. Takeout, reservations, and group visits were also listed as available.

What is the atmosphere like for a meal with family or friends?

The interior had warm wood tones and felt cozy. The tables were neatly arranged, creating a comfortable setting for grilled meat with family or friends.

I liked that each chair had a space for storing clothes. There was also an area inside that looked like a private room, but I did not go in, so I could not confirm whether it was a separate room.

What was on the menu, and what did I order?

The menu included marinated ribs, bakpo galbi, yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), and naengmyeon (cold noodles), as well as a set for four. Alcohol was listed at ₩2,000, which seemed inexpensive. However, the original post does not specify which drinks that price applies to.

How are the side dishes served, and can you get more?

The meat and grill arrived with shredded scallions, wrap vegetables, kimchi, salad, and pickled onions. It was a good selection to eat alongside the meat.

It was convenient that I could bring back more side dishes myself from the self-serve station.

How did the gas-grilled marinated ribs taste?

I grilled the meat over a gas flame that day, and I liked that it cooked moist without burning. While I was eating, there was not much smoke or smell, and my clothes seemed to pick up less of a meat smell.

The marinated ribs were well seasoned with a lightly sweet and savory marinade, so they were good on their own. I picked the meat from the bones and also ate it wrapped in vegetables with the side dishes.

How were the doenjang-jjigae and after-meal dessert?

The doenjang-jjigae we had contained pork. The broth was rich and savory, with plenty of tofu and vegetables. Taking spoonfuls of it while eating the meat went well together.

On the way out after the meal, I also had ice cream for dessert. There were Yogurt Time, Melona, Choco Fudge, and others, and it was a nice sweet finish after the meat.
