The short version
The fresh milk cream cake has a strong, clean milk flavor. The cream is soft and the sponge is moist enough that I could see myself finishing two slices.
The decaf iced café latte still had a solid coffee aroma despite being decaf, which made it perfect for a late afternoon. The oat latte uses oat milk, so the nuttiness comes through even more than a regular milk latte.
This is a solid pick if you're after good coffee in Seoul near Gwanghwamun, with a wide range of single-origin beans on offer. Since it's tucked into SFC's basement level, it's quiet and the staff were really attentive — a comfortable spot for a calm conversation.

Head down to the basement level of Seoul Finance Center and you'll find Center Coffee Gwanghwamun. Since it sits between City Hall and Gwanghwamun stations, it's an easy spot to arrange to meet someone.
There were Blue Ribbon Survey stickers on the entrance glass dating from 2018 all the way to 2026, which got me excited before I'd even stepped inside.
The counter is open, so you can watch the whole coffee-brewing process.
What's in the dessert showcase
Walk in and the dessert showcase is the first thing you see. Cakes, tarts and baked cookies are all neatly arranged.
Everything from cakes to pound cakes is available, so it's easy to pick out whatever dessert you're craving.
You can order either through the kiosk or right at the counter.
We ordered a decaf iced café latte and an oat latte, and since I was craving fresh cream that day, we added the fresh milk cream cake (decaf) too.
What the seating is like
Seating is arranged in a variety of styles, so you can just pick a spot you like. Along the aisle there's a curved bar-style seating area, which is a great spot to sit alone with your coffee.
Further inside, there's a long stretch of tables. The tables are spaced generously, so it's a comfortable place to sit and chat with a friend.
On one shelf they display beans, drip bags and cups.
There's a range of decaf, cold brew, drip bags and more, plus a wide selection of beans, so you can brew the same coffee at home to your taste — good to pick up as a gift too.
The atmosphere is modern and calm, making it easy to sit and talk.
Once you order, they hand you a buzzer stamped with the Center Coffee logo.

On the left is the decaf iced café latte, and behind it is the oat latte — even though it's decaf, the coffee aroma came through strongly, which made it great for an afternoon drink.
How the fresh milk cream cake (decaf) tastes
They even gave us two forks so we could dig into the cake together — the forks, the plate and the cake itself all looked so pretty that I was excited before taking a single bite.
The fresh milk cream cake (decaf) is built with three layers of sponge and two layers of cream. The cloud-like piped cream on top is this cake's signature.

I picked up a bit of the fluffy-looking cream on top and tasted it — it's moderately sweet cream and really delicious.
I cut it into bite-sized pieces and took a bite — the sponge is so moist that it goes down smoothly together with the cream.
Even eaten on its own, the cream has a subtle sweetness and a milky nuttiness, making it a perfect match with coffee.
