Gangnam Japanese restaurant for a rainy-day eel meal: Manmok
In short
Manmok is a Japanese restaurant in Gangnam, Seoul. Just before weekday break time on a rainy day, I had eel rice bowls, silky steamed egg, and matcha or black tea ice cream in its tidy wood-toned space. Verdict: Manmok is a lovely spot for a carefully presented eel meal.

A tidy restaurant in warm wood tones
The restaurant was so clean, and the interior was lovely too. Maybe it is because it has only just opened, but I feel like this clean, tidy atmosphere will stay the same even after a long time. The wood-toned interior and lighting made it feel cozy and really nice.
I prefer restaurants where you can tell they put this much care into the interior too.. My old occupational habit is creeping back in..⚡️

Even the menu was pretty, you know. (?)

Neatly presented eel rice bowls
And the food came out so beautifully and neatly presented too … (!)

Half portion ₩26,000

Whole portion ₩39,000

Silky steamed egg and shredded radish
First, this is the steamed egg that came with the meal. It was as soft in texture as soft tofu, with a slightly sweet, nutty flavor.

I especially loved the shredded radish served as a side dish. It was lightly sour radish kimchi!

Doesn't it look delicious~?

Matcha and black tea ice cream for dessert
After enjoying the eel rice bowl, they give you matcha or black tea ice cream for dessert. 🎶

Ah…… the ice cream is seriously delicious ㅠㅠㅠㅠ It just melts away in your mouth 🥺

I'll attach the menu once more :) The water glasses were pretty, and so was the bowl the ice cream came in.. I love plates, you see……… Looking at the pretty plates here made me want to start collecting them again …🥺

Thoughtful touches right down to the restroom
Manmok was such a thoughtful restaurant: the restroom was diligently maintained, with lots of kinds of hand wash and hand cream, plus dental floss and mouthwash ready to use 😌

And because it was a rainy weekday and just before break time, there was no one there and the atmosphere was lovely :)
