Today I'm introducing a premium shabu-shabu restaurant near Hapjeong Station that nails both atmosphere and taste~ It's known as a great Hapjeong date course for special occasions, and just as popular as a family gathering spot to bring your parents to — Shabu in Seoul Hapjeong Branch!
Where is Shabu in Seoul Hapjeong Branch, and what are the hours?

Shabu in Seoul Hapjeong Branch is less than 100m from Exit 8 of Hapjeong Station, so it's super accessible, and with Kyobo Bookstore and plenty else to see nearby, it also makes a really nice date spot~
- Address - 14 World Cup-ro 1-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, B2, Delight Square 1, Shabu in Seoul Hapjeong Branch
- Hours - Daily 11:00–22:00
- Amenities - Group seating, reservations, Wi-Fi, separate men's/women's restrooms

Since it's a popular spot with waiting lines, I liked that they have cold drinks ready for you to sip while you wait

The tableware was set up neatly the moment we sat down, which felt very clean and fitting for such an upscale space~
What is the white and wood-toned interior like?

Walking in, you're greeted by a calm, sophisticated interior in white and wood tones — a classy, tidy space that put me in a good mood the second I stepped in. Definitely a Hapjeong shabu-shabu spot worth knowing, haha.

Ordering prime Angus chuck flat for two at 25,000 won each
Unlike a typical shabu-shabu place, the menu at Shabu in Seoul Hapjeong Branch uses top-grade meat, so you can enjoy upscale, high-quality shabu-shabu at a reasonable price.
We tried the prime Angus chuck flat shabu-shabu, ordering two servings~ Premium Angus chuck flat at ₩25,000 per person × 2.

The staff were also really kind, and I loved how attentively they served us — the overall vibe was very satisfying. We went with mushroom broth, but there are also spicy mushroom, crab bean paste, sukiyaki, and other options to suit your taste, haha.

Fresh vegetables plus the prime chuck flat! The plating looked so pretty, and the upscale atmosphere felt like it would be perfect for bringing your parents along.

What sauces and pickles come with it?
There were three sauces prepared — sesame sauce, chili sauce, and soy sauce — plus minced garlic and chili for adjusting to taste, and the pickled radish and yeolmu (young radish) side was refreshing and delicious, haha.

Chuck flat in mushroom broth, then into rice paper wraps
The mushroom broth already had great depth of umami, and adding vegetables first let the broth steep even richer~
Then they cooked the fresh, prime-grade chuck flat right in it~

Shabu-shabu meat really does cook fast, and I love that about it, haha. The meat wasn't tough at all — soft, with a subtle, appealing meaty aroma.
Dipped in the soy sauce, the savory-salty and clean flavor paired beautifully with the shabu-shabu
And a spoonful of the deeply infused mushroom broth, rich from all the vegetables and meat, was truly exceptional in flavor~

They also prepare rice paper for wraps — dip it briefly in the hot broth and use it to wrap everything up. The chewy texture along with the rich flavor of the vegetables and meat, finished off with the nuttiness of the sesame sauce, made for a really delicious combination~

Egg porridge finish and omija tea for dessert
Another appealing thing about this Hapjeong shabu-shabu favorite is that each broth comes with its own designated finishing dish, which adds a nice sense of variety — since we had mushroom broth, they prepared egg porridge for us!
Watching them crack in the eggs and stir the porridge together was seriously impressive to watch

To finish, they topped it with pepper, sesame oil, and dried seaweed flakes, and it was time to dig in!

Rather than being plain and light, the porridge carried the deep umami of the well-steeped broth, with seasoning throughout that left a really lingering finish — I don't usually love porridge, but I ate this one up happily~
And they finished it off with omija tea for dessert, which gave the meal a refreshing close, haha.
Better for a date or a family gathering?
Thanks to its clean, private feel, Shabu in Seoul Hapjeong Branch is great as a Hapjeong date spot for spending quality time with someone special, and with its healthy, upscale menu that appeals to all ages, it's just as fitting as a family dinner spot everyone can enjoy together!
If you're looking for a clean, special meal near Hapjeong Station, I really recommend giving this Hapjeong shabu-shabu specialist, Shabu in Seoul, a visit, haha.
