There's an alley in Daegu called Anjirang. That alley is quite famous for gopchang (grilled beef intestine). There's a vegetable gopchang spot in the alley, so I went to check it out. Let me introduce this gopchang restaurant now.
Where is Gopchang119 Anjirang Branch and how do you get there?
Gopchang119 Anjirang Branch is on the 1st floor at 20-2 Daemyeong-ro 36-gil, Nam-gu, Daegu, South Korea, inside Anjirang Gopchang Alley. Walk a little from Anjirang Station and you can find it easily. It's about a 300m walk from the station exit.
Gopchang119 Anjirang Branch opening hours and last order

Closed every Monday. It usually opens at 4pm and runs until 11:30pm.!✨ Last order is at 11pm, so keep that in mind if you're planning to visit :)🤍
It's good for dinner all the way into the late hours, so it worked well as a stop after work too!
Walking from the Anjirang Gopchang Alley entrance to Gopchang119

Just follow the sign at the entrance of Anjirang Gopchang Alley and keep walking straight in. It's called "Gopchang Alley," but they actually handle a variety of dishes including daechang (large intestine) and makchang (grilled pork/beef abomasum). Thanks to the efforts of Daegu City and Nam-gu, it has now become established as a major tourist course in Daegu. It began around 1979 when Chungbuk Sikdang in the Anjirang alley started selling cheap, filling gopchang for students and workers who didn't have much money, and gopchang restaurants opened one by one from there. After the 1998 IMF financial crisis, more businesses opened as a means of livelihood, and it has continued to this day.

There's a parking lot for Anjirang Gopchang Alley. And as you can see, Onnuri gift certificates are accepted here, so keep that in mind!

Walking a bit further toward the parking lot, you'll see a black sign reading "Gopchang119."

They said gopchang is available for takeout too, so keep that in mind!

The space is on the spacious side, and the round tables made it comfortable to sit at.

Gopchang119 menu and prices

It's divided into gopchang, vegetable gopchang, and makchang — these are Gopchang119's signature menu items.😁 They also have grilled chicken neck meat, so if someone wants to try something else, I'd recommend that. You can still taste the flavor that Anjirang Gopchang is known for!

There are also side dishes and drinks. For drinks there's soju, beer, cheongha, draft beer, and soft drinks. For the fried rice, you can get snow cheese fried rice, add glass noodles, or add extra cheese!!
One serving each of vegetable gopchang and al gopchang: how did they taste?

There's mayonnaise, doenjang (soybean paste), gochujang (red chili paste), garlic, and pickled radish..! What we ordered was one serving each of vegetable gopchang and raw gopchang✨

Vegetable gopchang at Gopchang119
The vegetables were cooked just right and had a nice crunchy texture. There's gopchang along with chewy noodles too. The crisp vegetables and the seasoned sauce blended together well, making it delicious. It's stir-fried quickly over high heat to maximize that smoky, charred flavor.. 🔥

Al gopchang, the fat-filled cut
There was plenty of gopchang, which I ate dipped in sauce with onion and paired with pickled radish, and the gopchang was nice and chewy.
The best way to eat gopchang at Gopchang119 🧡

It's smoked over oak, so after tasting the gopchang's flavor on its own, wrap it in a perilla leaf with pickled radish on top and dip it generously in sauce — that's the delicious way to eat it!

Snow cheese fried rice finished with a torch

For the snow cheese fried rice, you can choose to stir-fry the rice with either the raw gopchang or the vegetable gopchang. The cheese on top is lightly melted, then blasted with a torch so it's ready to eat.
Once the torch has done its work, the cheese stretches out in long strings and it feels like you're diving straight into a pool of cheese😗💚

There's perilla leaves, pickled radish, garlic in vinegar, chili peppers, doenjang, and more.
