In short
Hyeonseonine Yongsan Main Branch is a tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) and bunsik (Korean street food) restaurant on Yongridan-gil in Yongsan, Seoul. Visiting at 1pm on a weekday found the dining room fully packed, and the ₩24,000 Hyeonseon combo set delivered soupy tteokbokki, assorted fritters, chewy sundae with organ meats, mini gimbap, and skewered fish cake soup all in one spread. A lively Monday. I hadn't been to Yongsan in a while, so I stopped by Hyeonseonine Yongsan Main Branch, a famous tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) spot on Yongridan-gil.

What are the exterior and interior vibe like?
Here's my review of the Hyeonseon Combo Set and the restaurant itself, at Hyeonseonine Yongsan Main Branch, the go-to tteokbokki spot on Yongridan-gil in Yongsan.
A retro, standalone exterior
A red roof and red-and-yellow striped awning catch your eye, giving the whole building a nostalgic street-cart feel. The interior style brings back old memories and gives the place a standout presence in the Yongridan-gil alleys.

A spacious, comfortable interior
Unlike the cozy exterior, the inside has high ceilings and feels wonderfully open. Seating ranges from tables for two up to four, spaced generously so you can eat in comfort.

I went at 1pm and the place was completely packed with customers.

A neatly kept self-serve bar: a water dispenser, pickled radish, cups, utensils, and a trash bin are all laid out along the flow of traffic so you can grab what you need whenever.
What's in the Hyeonseon Combo Set, and how does it taste?

Spicy-sweet soupy tteokbokki
A savory, spicy-sweet broth is loaded with chewy rice cakes and fish cake. The broth comes out generously soupy, perfect for dipping fritters, sundae, or mini gimbap right in.

Crispy assorted fritters
A solid lineup of gimmari (fried seaweed rolls), yakki-mandu (fried dumplings), and fried squid. They're tasty on their own, and even more flavorful dipped in the tteokbokki broth.

A generous plate of sundae and organ meats
Chewy sundae (Korean blood sausage) comes with a hearty helping of fresh organ meats — liver, lung, and more. Soft yet chewy texture, excellent all around.

Savory mini gimbap
Mini gimbap (bite-sized seaweed rice rolls) packed with pickled radish, ham, egg, and vegetables, topped with a sprinkle of sesame seeds. They're perfectly bite-sized and pair beautifully with the spicy tteokbokki.

Warm skewered fish cake soup
A deep, clean broth loaded with chewy skewered fish cake, fried tofu, and green onion. It's a great, refreshing palate cleanser between bites of spicy food.

To sum up
The Hyeonseon Combo Set is a perfect way to enjoy all of bunsik's greatest hits in one sitting — tteokbokki, fritters, sundae, mini gimbap, and fish cake soup. If you're looking for a hearty, delicious bunsik meal on Yongridan-gil, this place is well worth a visit.
Hyeonseonine Yongsan Main Branch stands out with the most distinctive presence on Yongridan-gil, one of Yongsan's hottest spots for tteokbokki. Its signature Hyeonseon Combo Set brings together spicy-sweet soupy tteokbokki, crispy-yet-tender assorted fritters, savory sundae and organ meats without any gamey taste, bite-sized mini gimbap, and refreshing skewered fish cake soup into one perfect combination.
Dipping crispy fritters and sundae into that addictive, soupy tteokbokki broth is a joy you simply can't skip when visiting Yongridan-gil. With a generous spread that satisfies everyone and a clean self-serve system, this place earns its spot as a must-stop on any Yongridan-gil food tour.
