Yongsan izakaya window seats, sashimi and highballs: Hatpiendo

My friend and I were looking for a good-vibe bar in Yongridan-gil and ended up at Hatpiendo, where you can enjoy aged sashimi and highballs! 🐟🍹

We went around 6pm on a weekday, and the seats kept filling up as time went on? Guess it's a hot spot even on weekdays... -`♥´-

Lots of people were there on dates too — the floor-to-ceiling windows keep it from feeling cramped, and the overall vibe is great. I get why it's popular! ( •̀∀•́ )✧

The inside was way bigger than it looked from outside. Seats were packed not just on the 2nd floor but the 3rd floor too, so among Yongridan-gil bars, this looked like a solid pick for a group visit too!

Hatpiendo's location and exterior — close to Sinyongsan Station

Hatpiendo is located in Yongridan-gil, so it's a great bar for grabbing drinks with a friend near Sinyongsan or heading here for a date. It's close to the station too, good good.

We'd been at Café Heuk right before, so it was only a 10-minute walk over. From the entrance, it already felt less like a plain sashimi restaurant and more like an aesthetic bar. * ੈ✩‧₊˚* ੈ✩‧₊

You could check the menu right by the entrance, and there were plenty of dishes like today's aged sashimi that go great with drinks.

2nd and 3rd floor interior vibes — way bigger than expected

There was a waiting list right by the door. Seems like it'd get packed on weekends!!!

The 2nd floor has both bar seats and window-side seating.

The floor-to-ceiling window made the space feel even more open, and once evening lighting kicked in, it turned into a surprisingly great date atmosphere...🙈 I sat right by the window, and honestly the bar seats had great vibes too ٩꒰｡•◡•｡꒱۶ Everyone really does come here on dates.. >.<

There really were a lot of couples there, but it wasn't too dark or too loud, so it was also nice for chatting and drinking with a friend.

And Hatpiendo's 3rd floor is genuinely spacious! Even in photos you can tell there are a ton of tables, right? Going up there, I was surprised at how much bigger it was than I expected haha

After visiting at 6pm on a weekday, the crowd kept growing, but with plenty of seating up to the 3rd floor, the place never felt small. Aesthetic little props scattered around too, so overall it felt both comfortable and pretty.

The bathroom was clean too

The bathroom was kept nice and clean. That's something I quietly care about when visiting a bar, so good good on that front too!

Isn't the bathroom kind of aesthetic too? Hahahaha

Ordering is simple with a table QR code

Ordering was done via a QR code on the table. It was convenient because you didn't need to flag down staff — you could browse the menu at your own pace and order right from your seat.

We ordered today's aged sashimi and two highballs.

Having a highball with a friend in such a nice space made me really satisfied with our choice that day!

Today's aged sashimi — the salmon was thick

Finally, today's aged sashimi arrived! The plating was clean, and it came with several types of sashimi, perfect as a side for highballs.

The salmon especially was sliced nice and thick, which I loved... whew.

🌟The slices weren't thin and small — they were thick, so it felt like a proper serving, and not just the salmon but all the other sashimi was delicious too.🌟 We both loved it so much that it felt almost a shame to eat fast, so we savored each piece haha

It's delicious just eating the sashimi alone, but since it came with gim (seaweed sheets), wrapping the sashimi in it was great too! They even quietly showed us how to eat it best 👏🏻

We ordered just one plate of sashimi, but with several different ways to eat it, we enjoyed it all the way through without getting bored.

Visiting Hatpiendo with a friend on a weekday evening, we were happy with the atmosphere, the food, and the friendliness all around. The staff were really kind, and my friend seemed overall satisfied too. -`♥´-

Above all, it's an aesthetic space with floor-to-ceiling windows, so it suits anyone looking for a date spot in Yongridan-gil, and the 3rd floor seating was way bigger than expected, making it a good option for visiting with a bunch of friends too.

Today's aged sashimi had thick-cut salmon and the other sashimi was delicious too, so much that we savored every piece — if you like sashimi, I'd recommend it.

Even the bathroom was clean, and honestly there wasn't much to complain about that day.
