I visited once before and loved the food, but what really won me over was that it's a room-style bar with partitions at every table — so I came back again!!!!

This time I brought my husband and my mom along, and when even my mom tried it and said it was delicious, I felt weirdly proud >< There's nothing better than hearing 'this is good' when you bring family, right hahaha?

This place is pretty big, with about 30 tables, but instead of one big open hall, every table has its own partition, so it really felt private and cozy for eating and having a drink 💙 Bottom line — the aged sashimi that got my mom's stamp of approval as a Jongno favorite delivered again!💙💙💙

The partitioned room vibe and the aging sashimi

When I came with a friend last time, it felt so cozy and nice. I love how private it feels!

As soon as you walk in, you see sashimi aging right there. I've seen beef or pork being aged before, but this was my first time seeing sashimi aged like this..!!!! I thought, this place must really know their aged sashimi.

What we ordered and the prices

What we ordered:

  • Aged sashimi (small) ₩69,000
  • Red snow crab innard cream croquette ₩19,000
  • Aged sashimi salad ₩22,000
Three complimentary side dishes served as a set

Three complimentary side dishes came out right away. We immediately ordered a bottle of doguri (sake) and a bottle of beer hahahahaha

Aged sashimi (small) — chewy with a lingering savoriness

First up, the main order — aged sashimi! Aged sashimi has a different charm from regular fresh sashimi, right? The fish itself was chewy yet soft, with a subtle umami that came out more the more you chewed, which made it a great pairing for drinks. At first I tried a piece plain to taste the fish itself, then dipped one lightly in soy sauce — sashimi is delicious no matter how you eat it, honestly haha

The aged sashimi wasn't overly strong-flavored — it had a natural depth that made me want to eat it slowly. My mom tried it too and said it was good, and I was glad I brought her ㅠㅠㅠ My mom is pretty honest about food, and if it's not good she'll say so right away, so getting her praise made the meal even more satisfying!!!

The savory flavor of red snow crab blended with the cream, giving it a richer taste than a regular croquette, and it was great to eat one every so often between bites. A piece of sashimi, then a bite of croquette — the flavor kept changing, and I kept reaching for more!

Cheers cheers cheers — the mood and the food were both so, so satisfying... not a single side dish was bad!!!!!!!!!!

My absolute favorite.... amberjack (jaetbangeo)... I think it was my first time trying it and I couldn't believe how good it was...

Aged sashimi salad — tangy salad made with gizzard shad

They made a spicy salad with aged gizzard shad, and after eating the mellow aged sashimi, this tangy, seasoned dish really woke my palate back up! It's also a great pairing for drinks, so if you love sashimi, I'd recommend ordering it alongside the rest~~

Topped with flying fish roe for extra crunch. From the sauce to the perilla leaf aroma, everyone ate it not just as a side dish but hahahahaha like an actual meal.

How is it for family gatherings or work dinners?

This time I came with my husband and my mom, and trying all three dishes together made me really glad I revisited! Genuinely! From the chewy, savory aged sashimi to the nutty red snow crab innard cream croquette and the tangy-spicy aged gizzard shad salad — each had a distinct flavor, which also made it great for sharing among a group.
