Garlic potato bacon pizza for group dinners near Jongjak Station

As autumn slowly rolls in, more people are heading to Jongno's outdoor tent street (yajang), but honestly, going to the tents themselves can be a hassle — uncomfortable restrooms, tables packed way too close together.

But step just slightly off the main Jongno tent alley and you'll find Didi's Pizza Pub, a Jongjak Station favorite with clean restrooms and a comfortable setting. With such a varied menu, it's also a top pick for group dinners. Today I'm introducing this Jongjak Station pizza spot where the food was seriously good :)

On a fiery Friday, with the cooler weather everyone was out enjoying the outdoor tent seats. But since tent seating isn't unlimited, I'd recommend getting there early! Especially this close to Jongjak Station, office workers pour in the moment they clock out.

Two storefronts, seating built for group gatherings

Didi's Pizza Pub is split across two storefronts, so there's a ton of seating — a beer pub really built for group meetups. I sat in the inner shop, which was really comfortable and had a TV, perfect for catching soccer or baseball over a beer~

The basic side snack is Jjanggu crackers, great for nibbling while waiting for the pizza haha. With so many customers, turnover must be high, because the crackers weren't stale at all — nice and crispy~

What's on the menu?

Didi's Pizza Pub's pizzas are thin-crust, so they're not too heavy even for a second round, and the variety is huge — seafood, pepperoni, spicy chicken, Hawaiian, potato, meat, and more. I ordered the garlic potato bacon pizza (₩24,800).

Beyond pizza, there are plenty of light sides too — buffalo wings, fries, dried pollock — so there's plenty to choose from. Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) surprisingly pairs well with pizza, and it's perfect to order when there's a group. There's also refreshing fruit like melon and tomato, ideal as a palate cleanser.

From beer to soju to highballs, Didi's Pizza Pub even carries Kirin and Asahi beer. Places that serve Kirin draft are hard to find these days, so I was thrilled to see it here👍 Didi's Pizza Pub is such a great spot for a quick beer after work.

How was the garlic potato bacon pizza?

The pizza came out in almost exactly 5 minutes — the essential garlic potato bacon. Thin, crispy dough piled high with bacon, onion, potato, savory cheese, and plenty of garlic sauce. It was bigger than I expected, and I wondered if two people could really finish it haha.

When people say potato pizza, they usually picture wedge potatoes or French fries on top, but Didi's Pizza Pub uses crispy diced potato scattered all over. The dough, potato, and bacon were all crispy, so it tasted almost like eating a cracker.

It's hard to see under all the sauce and cheese, but true to a Jongjak Station pizza favorite, the toppings are generous. I honestly envy anyone who works near Jongjak and can enjoy Didi's Pizza Pub whenever they want ㅠㅠ

Is the garlic dipping sauce worth adding?

The garlic dipping sauce is ₩500 extra, but it's such a perfect match for the pizza that I couldn't skip it! Dip the crust ends in generously and it's sweet and savory. There's already garlic sauce on the pizza itself, but honestly, pizza without dipping sauce just feels incomplete 😂

One pizza for two — how much is it really?

Even with a thin crust, each slice is pretty big, so it was a bit much for two women to finish a whole pizza. Never underestimate a thin crust🤭 Next time I'd come with three people and order fries and other sides to share alongside it — that'd be the perfect amount.

Dip it in the garlic sauce and pair it with a glass of soju, and you could keep going forever👍 These days it's not pizza-and-beer, it's pizza-and-soju. Plus, since the crust is thin and not overly oily, it feels less guilt-inducing even if you're watching what you eat!
