Chinese food court in Anseong, stroller-friendly tangsuyuk set: Chibao

In short

Chibao Starfield Anseong Branch is a Chinese restaurant sitting right in the middle of the Itopia food court on the 2nd floor of Starfield Anseong in Gyeonggi. Visiting with a baby in a stroller, the writer ordered the jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) + fried rice + mini tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) set for around 20,000 won, and the tangsuyuk turned out to be the chewy sticky-rice kind. With wide gaps between tables and a steady hum of food court noise, Chibao is an easy place to have lunch with a baby.

Chinese food set spread at Chibao in Starfield Anseong

Chibao, a must-visit restaurant at Starfield Anseong A great spot to bring a baby

Raising a young baby really narrows down where you can go, ugh. So my husband and I end up going to big shopping malls a lot. Especially when it's hot or cold out, a huge mall like Starfield is the best.

Where is Chibao inside Starfield Anseong?

Chibao is a Chinese restaurant sitting right in the middle of the Itopia food court on the 2nd floor of Starfield Anseong. Today I want to share this Chinese restaurant we found in the Itopia food court! My husband and I ate really well and walked out wanting to tell every Pyeongtaek and Anseong resident about it.

How much is the jjajangmyeon, fried rice and tangsuyuk set at Chibao?

Chibao's set menu is jjajangmyeon + fried rice + mini tangsuyuk, and it's affordable at around ₩20,000. Being a food court, they mostly sell basic Chinese dishes, and my husband and I ordered this set.

Is the Itopia food court comfortable with a baby and a stroller?

The Itopia food court at Starfield Anseong is spacious and comfortable, with wide table spacing — it made me want to come back with the baby often. You know how department store and outlet food courts usually feel chaotic and cramped? This place is completely different.

Widely spaced tables and seating at Itopia food court

With a young baby, once she starts fussing, in a small restaurant you feel everyone's eyes on you and scramble to finish and leave, haha. But here the space is big and there's just enough ambient noise that her fussing blended in naturally. Plus there were so many other stroller crews around, it felt like we were all comrades in the same boat. 👍

Gotta touch my baby's foot before eating..❤️ A foot that has never once touched the ground. Can't wait for your first steps, little one. Please take your time, grow slowly, please, ugh.

What comes in the Chibao set

Back to the main point! Here's what we ate! Jjajangmyeon + fried rice + mini tangsuyuk, served generously on one big tray — the visual alone was satisfying.

Glistening jjajang sauce over springy noodles — jjajangmyeon that couldn't possibly taste bad just by looking at it. +_+

And then the shrimp fried rice, loaded with plump shrimp. There was a slight smoky wok flavor with a salty, savory taste that was exactly our couple's style.

When you order the fried rice, jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) broth comes alongside it too, so there's no chance of the meal feeling too greasy.

How much do you get in Chibao's mini tangsuyuk?

Lastly, the tangsuyuk included in the set. As you can see, it's mini, mini. The portion is small — if you're a couple with big appetites, order extra.

Mini tangsuyuk served on a small plate

A plate smaller than my palm, hahaha. These days I don't love that uncomfortably-full feeling, so having the tangsuyuk come out as more of a taste-testing portion actually worked in my favor?!

Why Chibao's tangsuyuk is the chewy sticky-rice kind

The tangsuyuk here isn't the regular kind — it's made with sticky rice!!!!! The texture was chewy rather than crispy, and since it had been a while since I'd had this style, I was happy and ate it up.

The sauce was just the right amount of sweet and sour too — very satisfying!

I don't like tangsuyuk that's mostly batter, but there was plenty of meat too...? For food court tangsuyuk, the quality was really good. It felt like eating at a dedicated Chinese restaurant!

How was the jjajangmyeon at Chibao?

No matter how much of a Sunday Chapagetti chef I am, I can't replicate real jjajangmyeon. The jjajangmyeon here was delicious too. The noodles were cooked exactly to my preferred doneness, haha.

The jjajangmyeon really had big chunks of onion and meat you could bite into — like they didn't skimp on ingredients at all.

Verdict: why Chibao works for families with a baby

Thanks to our little guy for staying calm while mom and dad ate. Chibao is truly a must-visit Chinese restaurant at Starfield Anseong. Especially if you have a baby, the combination of spacious room, comfortable ambient noise, and fellow stroller parents makes it an easy, no-pressure place to visit.
