24-hour ramen restaurant in Busan: Ryusenso Basic & Kara

My first visit to Ryusenso in Seomyeon

I usually love Japanese ramen and have visited other Ryusenso (류센소) branches from time to time. This time, I had something to do in Seomyeon, so I visited the Ryusenso Seomyeon branch for the first time.

Since I usually like tonkotsu ramen, I ordered one basic option and one spicy option again. Let me introduce this Jeonpo ramen spot, a nice place to visit when you are craving ramen in Seomyeon.

Ryusenso Seomyeon hours and solo-dining seats

Ryusenso Seomyeon is located near Jeonpo Station. It is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, so it is easy to visit late at night, though there is a break time every day from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. There is no dedicated parking, so please keep in mind that you will need to use a nearby public parking lot.

The restaurant mainly has bar-style seating, so it did not feel at all awkward to come alone for a meal. It seemed like a good option when looking for somewhere to eat alone in Jeonpo or having a late meal.

Ryusenso menu and the Basic and Kara ramen I ordered

The Basic Ryusenso is ₩10,000 and Ryusenso Kara is ₩11,000. There are also options such as Ryusenso Asari, Ryusenso Kaki, a chashu rice bowl, yaki gyoza, and tori karaage.

I ordered the Basic Ryusenso and Ryusenso Kara. Ryusenso Kara has spice levels from 1 to 3, and I ordered level 1.

Ryusenso is Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen, known for its rich broth made by simmering pork bones for a long time. Ryusenso Kara is tonkotsu ramen with an added spicy kick.

Rich Basic Ryusenso and spicy Kara flavors

The Basic Ryusenso really delivered that rich, deep flavor distinctive to tonkotsu broth. The meat was tender, and the egg was cooked to just the right point for ramen. Ryusenso Kara had the same richness of the basic tonkotsu ramen with some heat added, so it felt different again. If you like spicy ramen, the Kara menu would be a good choice too.

The noodles and broth went well together, and I added minced garlic partway through. I recommend it because you get to enjoy two different flavors this way!

There were a few side dishes and extra seasonings to add, which made it easy to eat according to your taste. Next time, I should try adding pepper too.

Overall, both dishes were delicious, and above all, I loved that the restaurant is open 24 hours. It is a good place to visit when ramen comes to mind late at night, so anyone looking for a 24-hour Jeonpo restaurant might want to give it a try.

If, like me, you have visited another Ryusenso branch, I would recommend stopping by the Seomyeon branch too; if it is your first visit, I would suggest starting with the Basic Ryusenso. We enjoyed both the Basic Ryusenso and Ryusenso Kara. Choose the Basic Ryusenso if you like rich tonkotsu ramen, or Ryusenso Kara if you prefer a little more heat. I had expectations for the flavor because I had visited other branches occasionally, and the Seomyeon branch was satisfying too. If you are craving ramen in Seomyeon or looking for somewhere to eat late at night, give it a visit!
