Jeonpo pizza restaurant for sharing four flavors: Pickles

In short

Pickles is a casual pizza dining spot in Jeonpo, Busan. We compared four pizzas—jambon beurre, taco, beef cheeseburger, and bacon cheddar—alongside a salad. Pickles is more fun when a group shares several different pizzas.

If you're having pizza in Jeonpo, there is a place where it feels like a shame to pick just one whole pie.

Several kinds of pizza tasted at Pickles in Jeonpo

This time, I went to Pickles (PICKLES) in Jeonpo. I tried all four pizzas on the menu except the potato pizza, plus a salad, all at once. Jambon beurre, taco, beef cheeseburger, bacon cheddar—the names alone all point in completely different directions.

To give you the conclusion first, Pickles is a pizza restaurant whose strengths show much better when you share several flavors than when you order one large pizza.

The Pickles name is unmistakable from outside

When you arrive in the evening, the first thing you see is the red neon sign. With the people seated out front and the tables inside all in view, it feels more like casual pizza dining than a quiet restaurant.

From the outside, it looks a little dark and hip, but inside, the mix of white and wood tones makes it brighter than expected.

Even including the chalkboard at the entrance, it has a deliberately not-too-polished feel. The pizza and lasagna drawings suited the atmosphere well too.

Even the menu does not feel like an ordinary pizza place

Menu featuring pizza and pasta

Along with pizza, there are lasagna, pasta, and set menus. On the menu in the photo, lasagna was listed at ₩21,000; puttanesca and bacon cream pasta at ₩16,000 each; and the pizza-and-pasta set at ₩39,000.

On this visit, I focused on pizza rather than pasta. I chose four kinds, leaving out only the potato one.

With several pizzas, the salad matters more than you might expect

Salad served alongside several pizzas

I want to start with the pizza, but when you are eating several kinds together, the salad plays quite a big role.

Salad with romaine, cheese, and bacon

It is a style with big pieces of romaine, dressing, cheese, and bacon. Rather than being a completely light salad, it is closer to something that resets your palate between pizzas.

When you eat four kinds of pizza together, cheese and meat toppings keep coming. The crisp texture of the romaine is very welcome in between.

The jambon beurre pizza makes an impression before the first bite

Of the four, the jambon beurre was the one that caught my eye first in photos. With the ham folded generously on top and plenty of arugula, it looks much fresher than a pizza piled only with cheese and meat.

The salty jambon, rich buttery notes, and aroma of arugula come together, making this the pizza that changes the mood among the other three. If it were my first time at Pickles, I would definitely include this one in the order.

The taco and bacon cheddar pizzas show their character at a glance

Taco pizza topped with nacho chips and corn

The taco pizza has nacho chips, corn, and a creamy sauce, so you can tell exactly what it is even from a distance. Rather than regular pizza toppings with one or two extras, it feels closer to taco elements moved onto a pizza.

On the other side, there is a saltier, spicier combination with bacon and jalapeños. Differences like these made sharing several flavors fun.

Pizza topped with crunchy nachos

In particular, the nachos make the texture completely different from eating only crust and cheese. With that crunchy topping mixed in, it was the most playful of the four.

The beef cheeseburger pizza is hearty, just as its name suggests

Beef cheeseburger pizza centered on meat, cheese, and vegetables

With meat, cheese, and vegetables at the center, the beef cheeseburger pizza was the most familiar yet hearty direction among the four. If jambon beurre is fresh and taco is fun, the beef cheeseburger is closer to a pizza that gives the satisfaction you can expect just from reading its name.

If a group comes with divided preferences, having one menu like this in the middle helps steady the table.

After four kinds except potato, which would you choose first?

If you want something beyond ordinary pizza in Jeonpo

At Pickles, each direction is clear just from the menu names. They turn jambon beurre into pizza, add taco toppings, and even bring in a beef cheeseburger.

So it suited a day when I wanted to lay out several kinds and compare them bite by bite, rather than simply thinking, “I want pizza.” Instead of putting down one whole pie, go with several people and share different choices—the appeal of Pickles becomes much clearer.

This time I left out the potato pizza, so next time I could try that final kind and compare every pizza on the menu.

In one line

Pickles in Jeonpo is more fun when you share several kinds rather than one, because each pizza—from jambon beurre and taco to beef cheeseburger and bacon cheddar—has such a distinct personality.
