Korean bar near Nonhyeon Station, Incheon: pork kimchi & yukhoe with

In short

Simsimsangin Incheon Nonhyeon is a Korean fusion bar near Nonhyeon Station in Namdong, Incheon. The writer ordered pork kimchi stir-fry with cheese fried rice and yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) alongside maesil-wonju and hondiju, and loved the combo of tofu topped with kimchi and meat. With both bar seating and regular tables, it works well for solo drinkers and small groups alike.

Today I want to introduce a Korean fusion bar near Nonhyeon Station in Incheon that wins you over with both atmosphere and taste.

A perfect spot to sip drinks with good people and great snacks.

This is Simsimsangin Incheon Nonhyeon (심심상인 인천논현점).

Outside and inside atmosphere

Exterior entrance of Simsimsangin Incheon Nonhyeon

From the entrance you get a warm, modern vibe. Thanks to the soft lighting, it's the kind of place where every photo turns out great, haha.

Interior of the bar with soft ambient lighting

I loved how the menu was split into 'red food' and 'white food' sections haha. The menu is really varied, isn't it?

Here's the inside seating.

Regular table seating by large windows inside the store

It's clean and the big windows keep it from feeling cramped. Bar tables and regular tables are balanced nicely, so I'd recommend it for solo drinking or a couple, but also as a spot for small group gatherings.

Simsimsangin's signature menu

This isn't your typical pojangmacha (street food tent) vibe — it's a bar serving proper, well-made dishes. Looking at the menu, there were so many things I wanted to try that it was hard to decide. Here's what I ended up ordering.

  • Pork kimchi stir-fry + cheese fried rice (recommended for 2-3)
  • Yukhoe classic
  • Maesil-wonju
  • Hondiju
  • Zero-sugar cider

Pork kimchi stir-fry + cheese fried rice (recommended for 2-3)

Pork kimchi stir-fry served with tofu

The pork kimchi stir-fry, cooked spicy-sweet, has an amazing balance of meat and kimchi. Savory richness and umami filled my mouth — perfect for drinking snacks.

After enjoying the pork kimchi stir-fry, the cheese fried rice is a must-order finish. You can't eat meat without finishing with rice, right, haha.

Fried rice served with the cheese left out

(I don't eat cheese, so I asked them to leave it out!) The portion is generous enough for 2-3 people to enjoy.

One-bite combo of tofu topped with kimchi and meat

My recommended combo: put kimchi on top of tofu, add meat, and eat it all in one bite! You know a good food combo when you see one, right?

Yukhoe classic

A dish that lives up to its name — the classic version of yukhoe (Korean raw beef tartare).

Plate of yukhoe classic topped with egg yolk

You can tell it's fresh just by looking at it, and the texture — soft, chewy, with no gamey smell at all — is a work of art. The way it melts smoothly in your mouth made the drinks go down so easily!

Yukhoe mixed with egg yolk and pear garnish

Break the egg yolk, mix it all together, and eat it with the refreshing pear on the side. So glossy and shiny. Eating yukhoe right after the pork kimchi really cleanses the palate! It was the best pairing alongside the traditional liquors.

A fantastic match with traditional liquor (Maesil-wonju & Hondiju)

Another charm of Simsimsangin is its drink lineup. They have special traditional liquors ready to elevate the flavor of your snacks even further.

Maesil-wonju (13%)

Maesil-wonju poured into a pretty glass

Full of sweet, tangy plum flavor, it paired really well with the spicy pork kimchi stir-fry. A traditional liquor that's easy and pleasant to enjoy without feeling heavy. The glass was so pretty I had to take a photo!

Hondiju (12%)

Hondiju, a traditional liquor with Jeju tangerine flavor

Hondiju, with its refreshing Jeju tangerine notes, has a clean and crisp finish that's really appealing. It was a perfect match with the clean flavor of the yukhoe classic.

Zero-sugar cider ordered alongside the meal

For those who can't handle alcohol well or want a clean finish, zero-sugar cider is also available so everyone can join in without pressure.

My overall review and visit tips

Taste and presentation: from the pork kimchi stir-fry to the yukhoe, every dish had excellent quality and neat plating.

Friendly service: the owner and staff were kind, which made the whole experience pleasant.

Visit tip: it gets busy and can fill up during peak evening hours, so I'd recommend using Naver Reservation or arriving early.
